Thanks for these reflections and those on the other dream (furniture, water, etc.). I was thinking about what you said regarding Enoch. I was wondering with respect to the Obama dreams I had why God gave me those and concluded for motivation to pray that corruption in government would be made utterly transparent.
Not to pray against a particular person, rather pray that corruption in government would be made transparent to the nation. Also, that this nation would return to its founding principles.
Not returning to the status quo, but learning from our mistakes.
The brightest scientific minds and the most sophisticated technology, in the end, leads to wrong conclusions and ultimately death. If we wish to succeed we need to trust in God's equations. And they don't make mathematical sense. In fact, God tells us "Lean not upon your own understanding..."
Tomorrow I'm putting some more of God's math to the test. Gonna send in my tithe. When looking at the economy and visible prospects, that isn't a fiscally sound move. But, I'm not going to lean on those things, I'm going to lean on the word of God which says, "Give and it shall be given unto you..."
Yeah, like I have to spend more time looking for a job instead of doing spiritual quests. BUt... but... spirituality is where our life is. And God always provides for us when we put His Kingdom first.
Not to pray against a particular person, rather pray that corruption in government would be made transparent to the nation.
Pray, of course, because whatever they decide or act upon becomes part of our lives. This is the time to observe and stand on what needs to be done... problems are so hard to fix after they occur. (Like longstanding budget weaknesses compiling.)

What we need is the removal of corruption. The only way to achieve that is everything done in the open. Except for matters of National Security there should be no opportunity for "closed door" meetings or "behind the scenes" transactions.
Everything, should be recorded. They want to record everything we do. Let's turn that around. WE HAVE A RIGHT TO KNOW ALL THINGS (outside of NS) that goes on in government.
NO BILLS PASSED THE PEOPLE DON'T HAVE TIME TO READ.

NO BILLS PASSED THE PEOPLE DON'T HAVE TIME TO READ.
NO BILLS CREATED THAT ARE IMPOSSIBLE TO READ.
ETC., ETC., ETC.
THAT IS REGARDLESS WHAT PARTY IS IN OFFICE.
Well, considering senators tend to be lawyers and bills tend to be complex, I don't think that will happen.
And I am not worried about that, because there are people who go through these things both for those voting on them, and for the media -- which today may just mean bloggers, like the powerlineblog guys.
My real concern about transparency is with totalitarian countries. Guess what? They are people too. And unlike in the Free World, they do not have the level of truth we have here.
NS => you seem to mean here "national security". You have to think of the blowback on that and the value. We have far too many secrets. And for far too many bad reasons.
One, it makes our "enemies" paranoid.
Two, on most of the major events, the US has failed at. We have had miserable intelligence in key areas. We missed 9/11. We never caught Bin Laden when we actually had people - fools, like Michael Scheuer - looking for him. We fired missles into caves. What is that?
We missed the India/Pakistan nuke build up. We have been unable to do anything about North Korea.
The two worst spies we had were trusted employees of the CIA and FBI, respectively. It took decades to catch them.
Really, there is a massive history of failure after failure when it comes to intelligence. And even when there are successes, they turn out to have blowback equal to the success.
We have inspired fear and paranoia around the world.
Everybody thinks there are evil CIA/NSA plots around every corner.
Do you actually think that is good? I have spent years trying to counter people's paranoia of the US.
One of the very few good things we did was Radio Free Europe and Liberty Radio. By far and wide people have been more interested in coming up with clever disinformation then actually selling people on the merits of the freedoms and rights of man.
I think that is a lack of faith, a lack of confidence in Free World ideals. Patriotism for Free World citizens should not be about being a knuckle dragging grunt that is just thinking of the place where they came from. We have ideals here, doctrines, that are good and right. And we have not espoused these systematically. So, poor people and people in totalitarian countries only here about Communism and Islamism. Nothing to counter it.
It does not require one to be a brain scientist to figure that out.
I think this is because we walk like a guy with his shoes tied together. Emasculated by false doctrine, people have their eyes on each other's political party and do not have their eyes on the world.
They could care less about anyone, and don't even care about the right ideals by which this country - and other Free World countries - have been founded.
So, so many of these so-called "patriots" are leeching scumbags. They are in love with the glamor of secrets, without even having a focus.
Three, people like to claim an excess of secrets helps cover up the few real secrets. But that is not the truth. An excess of secrets covers up incompetence. It really does and it is the perfect thing for it.
It is like gunk in the wheels of the system.
All these secrets and where is anyone out there actually promoting Free World doctrines? While the Soviets were doing this around the world, what did we do? We acted like unthinking apes. Fighting. Or siding with people that were not with Free World doctrine. We did not and do not counter that propaganda to this day.
Aside from some conservative thinkers, hardly anyone in the Free World even is for these things or thinks about them.
If the American people sided with the government on the Vietnam war we could have won, trivially. We had righteous cause. The war against Communism was and is righteous. But, people hardly even knew what they were fighting for.
The Domino Effect was right. It happened. Proven. Laos and Cambodia fell after Vietnam. Who has trumpeted that?
Our students come out of college and High School hating our country. They have no idea what it is to live in Cuba or China or Saudi Arabia. They are deeply concerned with stupid things like Global Warming and Health Care.
Or conspiracy theories -- which our own intelligence has funded and helped feed into for decades to hide their secrets.
They love to manipulate and create mazes of deception... never even bothering to argue back against Communists or weaponize Free World propaganda so ordinary people understand it. Instead, these people are recruited into basic Communist, Fascist, and Islamist doctrine.
It is all absurd and dumb.
I have studied intelligence for years and work in computer security. No, I don't know all the secrets. And the successes probably are hidden. But, there simply can't be that many.
What happens in government usually boils down to money, power, control. That's why we need transparency. National Security (NS) well, there are obvious items or concerns under that heading which would have to remain secret.
Secret to a greater or lesser degree depending on the "time" war time vs peace time.
Anything the people of prayer put their mind to can be accomplished. Do I think it will be accomplished? I'm hoping the debacle of Bush and now Obama, will have sparked a fire which will cause people to demand a return to common sense and the principles of the Constitution.
Resulting in reaching the ideal of "One nation under God..."

We live in a Democracy, so there are a lot of people wanting a lot of different things. And I think that is very important for the best society.
On "NS" secrets, one problem with revealing any secrets - even back to WWII or before - is that then methods which have found to be workable are exposed... and in some cases, anyway, this can ruin current work that is ongoing.
Personally, I think we are doing great, considering the frailty of man. I do believe people in the Free World have been emasculated by lies of the past... such as Communism. And they remain not very confident in what they have here -- they are not even taught about totalitarian nations and their history in school much at all. So they come out of colleges seeing their great adversity to be their own country... and very often the good things about it. It is like a really low and wrong sense of self-esteem.
But, I also see this changing as we move away from the myths of the past and people are bold in exposing the reality of it.
This is done through open media, such as the internet, but also we see it forming as mass media news becomes more competitive and less locked into one mindset or another.
One of the most alarming issues to me about the Obama administration today is their attacks on Fox News, for instance. Yes, some outlets are more conservative then others. Even Middle Easterners understand this. Why are people pretending otherwise? It is wrong. Debate is absolutely necessary.
Bush was the target of extraordinary criticism. Very extraordinary. The vast majority of it extremely slanderous. But, he did not seek to shut down CNN or MSNBC or the NY Times, and he praised the global protests... that is that people were expressing their viewpoints.
I find slanderous expressions of viewpoints to be cultic in origin. They oppose the very principles of free speech. They are venomous to it.
The solution is already appearing to this and here: increasingly open and diversified media.
The weakness of slander and any lie is it only has effect while it can be contained. That is, while contrary opinions or exposes of it may not be heard. Hence, totalitarian countries find it extremely important to control the flow of information to their people.
A single truth destroys countless lies.
I am not saying Bush was perfect. Nor Republicans. Far from it.
I just finished reading the book "State Of Fear" by the author of Jurassic Park, Michael Chrichton. Now that book really shed light on a lot of issues regarding, secrets, media, government.
OK, it may have been a bit over the top but, the climate issue arguments therein, are the best I've ever heard.
