I purchased a tri-fold from a local Christian bookstore on witnessing to JWs. It had many good points to discuss and refute the contradictions and errors of their watchtower pamphlet. I keep the tri-fold at the front door and have only needed to use it once. (It helps to to review the information so as to be prepared beforehand too).
The info I discussed with them startled them so much, they haven't returned.
To the OP: I think if you ask them about their beliefs and are prepared to show them their errors, they may leave you alone. Whatever route you choose, I pray it creates doubt in their belief and a hunger to find that it's all about Jesus Christ.

Could you share some of the information provided in the tri-fold? I'm interested.

Not that I have tried to get rid of them, but I have found that by asking them questions, they never return with the answers. The same JW'S never return at all. In fact it has been years since any of them came around. Their authority is based on their belief that the Watch Tower Society is who God speaks through today. That being believed then I have to ask why has the Society changed the meaning of the words of the Bible when it speaks of the worship of Jesus. In their book "the kingdom interlinear translation of the greek scriptures" 1969 edition, page 10 [in the foreword] they have claimed "to each major word we have assigned one meaning and have held to that meaning as far as the context permitted." However in every case that the greek word for worship is used in context with Jesus they change the word to mean a lesser word of respect rather than worship as the scripture says. When the greek word for worship is used to do with respect to the Father, man, the devil, or angels they use the correct english word worship. So their translation is governed not by language, but rather by their doctrine.
Their 1985 edition of the same book is pretty much the same. On page 5 of it, under the heading “by way of explanation”, they write “…the translation under each greek word sets out what the greek word itself says according to its root meanings…” However the same corruptions are found throughout, the same as the 1969 edition.
I hope this helps you. It is the truth that sets us free. And Jesus is the truth.
I have always been courteous with everyone. Without hearing them out, how are we to know what they really have to say. Also, we can't judge them for sharing their beliefs when we do the same! Love everyone!

If JWs were to come to our home often, then I would learn more about their teachings from apologetics sources so that I could minister to them better - exposing to them the fullness of Christ's salvation by faith apart from works.
Just think - you may be the only person in the area who actually knows Christ and can point them to the true Savior! What a blessed privilege!

I'm 29 and have not yet talked to a Jehovahs Witness myself at the door. This neighborhood never gets them. When I moved for a year or so about twenty minutes away they did come to the door every Saturday, but it was my ex who met them there because I was always still asleep. Persistence becomes nagging if they keep coming back and it was the same ones. You can try once but don't push, as others have said. To me it's pretty presumptuous and rude coming to peoples houses, particularly early in the morning, especially on a weekend. I wouldn't be rude to them, just state I have my faith and leave it at that. No reason to sit there and listen to them as I have no use in it and it would be wasting my morning.

"You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, that my heart may sing to you and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give you thanks forever." - Psalm 30:10-12
How do you handle Jehovah Witnesses knockin' at your door? We have a JW church close to our house and we get alot of them.
Out of all religions I love that they go out into the world because I believe in my point of view that's going above and beyond. Most religions talk about the community but, few are in the community -talking with people everyday. As the word says the apostles went into the community going door to door and God said if they don't receive you then then let it be like dust under your feet.
I generally explain to them that I am spiritual and know my father and they just leave literature and leave but, thats just my experience.
