Hi everyone. I have some questions about the unforgivable sin. Here goes:
Can a Christian commit the unforgivable sin?
If a non-Christian commits the unforgivable sin and then is saved, is that sin wiped away?
I would also assume that if a Christian can and does commit the unforgivable sin then they cannot be forgiven due to the sin being unforgivable. Am I correct?
Tim ! That Was the best and probably the only true explanation of Sins against The Holy Spirit that I ever have heard. I don't ever recall a sermon on the unforgivable Sin, I consider Myself exceedingly thankful for hearing it this very evening, it really shook Me up.
Thanks; I needed a shakin up God Bless You Brother....Dave
A very bad sin is salt loosing its flavor and is poured out as worthless. Worthlessness or being ruined sounds unredeemable; for the Scriptures inquires "how will it be re-salted?"
It would seem that the mortal sin is to return to being world-bound and losing one's entire faith (saltless) after having believed in Jesus. Personal sin seems to go that direction, but there may be a trip wire towards damnation if one will not stop repeated sins (loves them) then gives up entirely and finally denies Christ. To not show respect towards the Holy Spirit or Christ's sacrifice would be to lose the Holy Spirit, which may impart its judgment of your soul. How can it return? Let God be in the judgment seat and we love each other and follow Christ. We got here by mercy, surely we must be like Christ and follow him, to not judge and have love for all. Stay on the straight and narrow by obeying and believing in Jesus Christ alone. Getting out of your comfort zone for Jesus will heal and help you to grow. Praise God.

What exactly is the unforgivable sin?
Why is it called blasphemy of the Holy Spirit?
Thanks in advance!
This sin could never be committed by a believer, salvation is a gift that cannot be lost. At the time it was attributing Christ's miracles to the devil, instead of The Holy Spirit. Today's equivalent would be to reject His drawing you to faith in Christ. It should also be noted that in Matthew's Gospel it was an ongoing rejection (Matt. 9:33-34, 12:22-32), not a one time occurrence. Those who are guilty of this, are so hardened by their unbelief that they don't care where they stand with God. I will post a couple of videos I believe will further help in explaining this. I hope this helps.
Sorry to disappoint, Robert. The Admins have declared a moratorium on discussions relating to "free will vs sovereign grace". I'm staying out of this one.
