And here I thought a lot of religious conservative types were against political correctness.
I've always had the impression when someone said "I'm not politically correct!" what they meant was "I can't be troubled to find some way to say what I want that isn't offensive. so just get over it."

To hold the same views at forty as we held at twenty is to have been stupefied for a score of years and to take rank, not as a prophet, but as an unteachable brat, well birched and none the wiser.

But...He doesn't need us. He uses us but He doesn't need us to accomplish His purposes.
Hmmm He has chosen us to spread the Gospel, but even if we're silent His message will still be spread, even the rocks would cry out to make His message known, but we would miss out on serving Him and the people around us, and that would be a drag for us. But it wouldn't thwart His plans for the World, or our place in it.
Actually, I do understand that.
A good reminder for all of us!

I'm simply going to hold you to the same standard. Provide a scriptural basis for all of the blather that comes out of your mouth. I'll not be holding my breath...

off topic, but one of my favorite quotes ever:
"Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a
delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an
unscrupulous mainstream media which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end."

Anyhow, the OP wasn't about political correctness, but your point is taken. Jesus is depicted in cartoons like Southpark and Family Guy and that doesn't offend me because the humor; while not exactly in good taste, is basically nonsense. For example, there was an episode of Family Guy where the main character found Jesus had returned, but decided to run a record store. Total nonsense, non-offensive to believers, just kinda silly. Also, Christians are made fun of on shows like The Office, where there is this "Holier than thou" character who constantly judges everyone for their every transgression, no matter how small. But at the same time has an affair with a co-worker while engaged to a man she refuses to sleep with because she wants to remain pure. That is funny, but not offensive, because; first of all, it is 'implied' that she is a Christian, no one ever labels her as such, nor does she. Also, we all know or grew up with the Holier than thou Christian who was unwilling to remove the plank from their own eye while pointing out everyone else's sliver. That makes the bit funny, but certainly not offensive.
The difference with Curb Your Enthusiasm is that the act of urination on an object is to spoil it. If someone peed in your coffee, you would consider it ruined, you wouldn't make an attempt to somehow separate the pee from the coffee so that you could drink it. You would throw it away. Then to take it a step further; not only have you ruined the image of Christ, you are now treading the faith underfoot by mocking someone who has the audacity to believe that Christ died for our sins, and that they may have witnessed a miracle. Not only was the bit not funny, my view is that they had every intention of offending Christians. Shame on me for taking the bait, I guess....
Larry David has just shown exactly what he is, a self-loathing Hollywood Jew who thinks that because he is a Jew, he can make fun of God and believers, even though he couldn't be further from Him. The worst part is that he doesn't make fun of just any Jew, he makes sure he is jabbing directly at those believing Jews who wear Yamikas (I'm sure I spelled that wrong), have full beards, and study the Torah. He makes sure they have big noses, small glasses, curls framing their faces, funny hats, and are always complaining. This is no different than putting people in black-face 50 years ago in cinema or theatre. Furthermore, he would never offend Hollywood elitist Jew, because if he did, he knows his career would be over. Same thing with Scientologists; who likely write his paycheck, he would never go after them. But when you go after God(at least the Christian and Jewish God, never the Muslim Allah), it merits a pay raise.

Was there a point where I said your disagreeing with me meant you weren't a "True Christian"? Because otherwise I can't see why I'd need to have Scriptural support. You on the other hand have suggested (a couple of times) that our being saved is contingent on our opinions lining up with your understanding what a "True Christian" believes. So I assumed you had Scriptures to back it up. If you don't a simple "No, I don't actually have Scriptures to support that." would do.

Actually, I like donuts with coffee. Or maybe a scone...
I addressed scriptural concerns way earlier in this thread, so you either can't read or choose not to.

Rot!
Sounds like you have more of an issue with Larry David's being a jew than with his urine.

If you are implying that I am anti-semitic because I told the truth; that Larry David is, indeed Jewish, then you are simply unable to engage in adult conversation. Read the entire post in context; with an open mind, and rethink what you are saying. If you come to the conclusion that you may have misspoken, then you can eat at the adult table. If not, stay down there with the kiddies....
If you can not refer to Larry David as merely Larry David, but insist on adding "the secular jew" every time....well,you might raise eyebrows. And from the content of your posts....you are the one subsisting on milk, my child.

I point out that he is a Jew because it is germain to the context of the conversation and the point I was making about him using that as his ammunition against specific religious groups. Again, reread the post; but this time, pull your head from your posterior....
No...it's germane to YOU....you never mentioned the religious or ethnic slant of the other comedy creators that poke fun at christianity and christians...you disregard them, it doesn't matter to you. For some reason THIS jab at christianity bothers you...and you keep highlighting the fact that the creator is a "secular jew". You yourself point out just how often comedy goes after religion.
FTR...how do you know that his being a "secular jew" is his ammunition? Where did you get that from?
As for the last sentence....that combined with all your other drivel just makes you look like a "posterior". Where's your home training? Can you have someone disagree with you without resorting to insults to make yourself feel better?
