Reactions like yours and the OP are like at least half the reason the show is funny. The fact that people can spew so much hate while claiming to represent THE PRINCE OF PEACE remind me of the Muslim protester holding the "behead those who say Islam is a violent religion".
A lot of the comedy on the show sails right over the heads of most, did you not catch the very comic style of the urination itself? I don't know about you but I don't hear that sound when I use the bathroom.
Are you saying that people don't have the right to be offended about this kind of thing? In my opinion, this is the same kind of comedy that was on TV shows back in the 50s where it was hilarious to make racist comments about black people.

Well, Christians aren't exactly being segregated and persecuted today like black people were in the 50's.

Not really, no. But black people today aren't being segregated and persecuted today like they were in the 50s. That still doesn't make it right to use that kind of humor today.
(Re black persecution: Yes, obviously there are still some incidents in some places but it's nothing like it used to be.)

I'm still searching for the evidence that you submit to the authority of scripture...
Sooo, was that a "No, I don't have any Scripture to back up what I'm saying." or not?

Does that mean that you won't engage in debate or conversation with a non-believer;
Never said that.
afterall, with your logic, God doesn't need you, right.
But...He doesn't need us. He uses us but He doesn't need us to accomplish His purposes.
Or maybe the Gospel will just kind of spread itself, because God is big enough; what does he need me to do it for?
Hmmm He has chosen us to spread the Gospel, but even if we're silent His message will still be spread, even the rocks would cry out to make His message known, but we would miss out on serving Him and the people around us, and that would be a drag for us. But it wouldn't thwart His plans for the World, or our place in it.
If you had even rudementary understanding of God, you would know He uses us to serve His purpose.
Actually, I do understand that.
And maybe you will understand that it is better to be thought of as an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove it.
A good reminder for all of us!

You have the right to be offended about whatever you wish, that doesn't mean I can't point out the gaping holes in your logic.
Do you really see Jesus as the kind of person who would get mad about this? I might be off here but I always imagine Jesus being the mellow and wise type.

Can you show us ANYWHERE in the bible where it says like likenesses of spiritual figures are sacred?

Am I Jesus? How do I know if he would get offended or not?
My guess is that I don't think he would be pleased with such an act. Would you like it if someone posted a giant picture of you in public and then peed all over it? My guess is no (although if you don't mind that, then whatever floats your boat I suppose...).
Do I think that Jesus would bring the thunder and lightning and divine fury? No. Jesus suffered far worse than having someone pee on a picture of himself. But Jesus was fully man as well as fully God. There are plenty of places in Scripture that show the breadth of his human emotions. "The mellow and wise type?" I'm not so sure about that. Wise? Indeed. Mellow? Definitely not all the time. The easiest example I can think off of the top of my head is the temple, where he got extremely angry and went about destroying tables and so forth.
There isn't anything special that goes into deciphering why people are offended at this. It is a symbol of the religion, and it is being desecrated for comedy purposes. You might not be offended by it, but it is clear to see why others would be. It's in the same vein as racist jokes being used for comedy when the purpose is specifically to degrade the race. This "joke" is obviously poking fun at people who will believe miracles where ever they seem to be. But conveying the message in such a fashion is tactless. Some comedy is tactless, and that's its point. I suppose some will laugh at it. Others will be offended.
It is a natural reaction; entirely expected. I would be outraged if someone took a picture of myself or my family and decided to publicly vandalize it for kicks. The same applies to beliefs, people, or other objects that people hold close to their heart. You may not agree with the reaction, or the actions that people wish to take as a result of the reaction, but to call it completely unjustified in the first place is, in my opinion, intellectually dishonest at best.
Obviously I don't agree with some of the things others who are offended have said in this thread. The parallel conversation that tulc is having with the other person who thinks that people who are not offended somehow "aren't real Christians" or whatever would be where I side with tulc. Do I think God is going to condemn people who find this funny? No, not really. I probably won't agree with your sense of humor, but there aren't any issues with salvifical consequences here (Even though some might think there are).
Do I think it is appropriate to boycott the entirety of HBO because of this? If you feel that such an extreme measure is necessary, then go for it. Personally, if I even had HBO, I would probably just stop watching the show (if I even watched it in the first place). HBO has plenty of other good programming available.
There aren't any gaping holes in logic here. Of course, you already compared people who are offended at this to the Taliban, so I don't think I'm ready to trust your argumentation in this area yet anyhow.
