Be careful, there is no such thing as lost books, they were never lost, they were rejected by early Christians. There is no insight to be found in what was rejected for good reasons.

Thats the thing that kinda bothers me, was it man that rejected them, or was it God working through man. Since some of them were used by early Christians, thank you for responding this has been on my mind for awhile now.

Your first hint is that men want to call them "lost books", so the whole premis begins with a lie.
Educated men with writings in hand were in the early churches attempting to corrupt the church. Paul's letters to the churches are filled with warnings about these men. So the bottom line is: those books were rejected by doctrine. The Pauline letters set up a clear set of doctrines concerning faith in Jesus and all things concerning the church. Doctrines on sin - security of the believer - proper understanding of atonement - proper understanding of works of man - who is Jesus - But even with these wonderful letters from Paul and his personal visits the early church received letters from other men attempting to bring in everything from Judaism to reincarnation, angel worship, idol worship. These letters are talked about in several of Paul's letters.......He always rejected these false teachers who were educated men with letters. Paul never failed to compare these false teachings with Grace alone, Christ alone, Scripture alone teaching and proper doctrines.
The process of keeping the faith pure and undefiled with teachings that came from the Holy Spirit and free from the teachings of corrupt men is ongoing. It began in the earliest church, and it continues today.
