| Psyxh Vathia (new film) For those who may have missed it or live abroad. There is a new greek film out called "Psyxh Vathia" from the maker of "Nyfes." It follows the tale of two brothers who end up in opposing war camps during the Greek civil war.
It is a movie that any Greek should watch especially since Greek schools refrain from teaching anything about this chapter of Greek history. It is mostly historically accurate, but emotionally biassed and a bit too friendly towards the communist side. Regardless of bias it does bring out valid points on American interventionism, the lack of will to fight from the side of the Greek Army, the lies told to Democratic Army members about Soviet help and more.
The fighting scenes are the best that have come from a Greek production to date but don't expect much. It captures the spirit of the era as far as I can understand it from the little I have learned (mostly by my grandparents.)
