I too have dental insurance and I wouldn't go to Mexico for a glass of WATER - unless of course I had a desperate urge for the trots.
This confuses me though - you march forth one example of someone who'd travel to Mexico for unspecified "dental work" (of all things), yet ignore the MILLIONS of Mexicans who desperately want to exit their country to get into the United States and benefit from our medical system, educational system, for work, for everything this country has to offer that THEIR COUNTRY doesn't.
Simply incredible....
That might be because you are not 6 or 7 hours from the border. Just yesterday I saw a story about just this very thing, Americans going abroad for medical procedures that are cheaper.
You and I both have common sense, the VAST majority of Americans lack this. I don't know about you but I have had the misfortune of being on the inside of a Mexican Emergency Room (with a family member) and I can tell you that the level of care is fairly high, as long as your credit card didn't get declined. The hospital we were at was actually the one they had picked for Dubya to go to in case of emergency while he was in Cancun.

Then why does it work so well in Canada and pretty much all of Europe?

I marvel at people who hold third-world countries like Mexico up as examples of ANYTHING worthy of admiration.
Health care being the notable exception. Remember the socialist French do it cheaper and better.

I am one of those crazy people who would give it away free. I don't think anyone should profit off the suffering of other people. I have no problems taxing billionaires at 75% if it means every child goes to bed healthy and with a full stomach.
Cutting it up like this makes it look kinda like you are complementing me....thanks

Yes....the backlash against having nobel prize winning presidents, like BO and Carter, is frightening. America gets sick of all that thoughtful, intelligent diplomacy stuff and feels the need to replace it with something more low brow. First, an actor...then a inarticulate cowboy...what next, a Tony Soprano knock off? Scary, indeed.

Do justice, love kindness and walk humbly with your God

I listened to the first video and when I closed my eyes and just listened, I couldn't tell if he was talking about the Democrats of the 60's or about the Republican administrations of his own or either Bushes.

I'm guessing that after 8-12 years of thoughtful leadership "teh peepul", bless their ignorant hearts, will elect John Gosselin.
...everybody sing along now,

Given Carter's messages about creating a greener, more oil independent economy, and having Americans take a good long look at themselves and how they can better help their neighbours makes one think:
How Great could America be today if they hadn't had the disaster that was Ronald Reagan?

How do you determine which of us posting here on CF are dogs and which of us are pigs? Because what if you accidentally gave something sacred to a pig or threw a pearl to a dog?
