Being that i share at least half of the responsibility for that distraction, i will speak up here:
i oppose the idea. The reason being that kind of forum might already exist on this board. i know that lots of things do exist here, even though i don't participate in them.
Apologies to all who were distracted by my divergence off topic. |

It doesn't exist. I already looked before I posted this thread.

Well I'm not a professional but I like saving on labor costs. My impending car repair is going to save me around $500 by doing it myself. I also saved a fortune by replacing the igniter in our furnace and even more by diagnosing a temp sensor and thermostat fault on our dryer. Then there was the blockage in our sump pump which saved me a fortune in plumbers labor costs by removing it and clearing it myself. It was a smelly job but the savings were worth it!

I'm pretty sure there used to be one (in the Hobby section I think?) on CF. But when traffic here slowed waaaay down it probably turned into a bit of a ghost town like a number of other subforums. Staff went through and got rid of a bunch of them because they were basically dead. But I'm sure if there is again lots of interest in having one, staff may consider bringing it back.

But a little bit confused.
We have to have someone make us a Do It Yourself discussion thread. !?!? we can't do that ourselves?

At the very least it is a 2 man job. You have to drop the whole front end subframe to get the transaxle out. Man am I tired. Trying to save money is sometimes not worth it. Of course the car has 250,000 miles on it and I am trying to get it to last another year. Or until my wife gets a job or I do. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | | | |
