I need help focusing

As of right now I know that God has a calling for me, however I can't seem to stay focused enough to do his will. I feel a sense of fear right now and i don't know why? My goal is to read the bible with clear understanding and gain wisdom. I'm sure to receive clear understanding but I do not gain the knowledge, it just sticks with me for the moment. That is just one example.

Do you have problems reading and comprehending and retaining other printed materials, or just the Scriptures? I could not tell from your post.

It's just the scriptures. Please excuse me for not being clear in the first passage, however Chaplain I left out some important information. At this time in my life I have been experiencing heart breaks, broken friendships, sick children, and financial issues. I was motivated to read the bible more and be obedient. So now that Im looking for instruction I can't find it.(Not being able to focus when reading the bible)
