What would your emotional reaction be if you found out that Jesus Christ was returning in 30 minutes to take the faithful to Heaven? What would you do for that 30 minutes?

"Hey Jesus, when did you start believing in the rapture?!"

*snicker* I would assume that the OP is a new Lutheran or at least an unconventional one.

1 Peter 5:8-9
Be sober, be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking some one to devour. Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experience of suffering is required of your brotherhood throughout the world.

I certainly don't believe in the rapture, but I have a hard time debating the point in light of the following passage:
After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.
-1 Thessalonians 4:17
What is the proper interpretation of this verse, DaRev and Filo? I'm completely at a loss when this verse is brought up.
It says meet in the air, not going to heaven.
But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare. Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness.
Granted it takes a whole new meaning based on how you interpret heaven (such as the expanse over the earth rather than a spiritual realm).

I hope it was clear I was only trying to make a joke. I meant no offense, Dongus.

Now if you had asked that somehow you knew that in 30 minutes Christ would be returning, I would have to say that I would be waiting in eager anticipation, and I'll bet those 30 minutes would seem to be the longest of my life.
However, scripture says that no one will know the time of Christ's return until he actually appears.
