Can homosexuals get into heaven?

Well, it seems to me that since homosexuality is no worse than any other sin, if they accept Jesus' forgiveness and have that relationship with Him, they should be accepted into heaven, don't you think?

I'm just asking this since I have some Christian friends who think all homosexuals will go to hell, but they're Catholic, and I have my views on Catholics .

Spoiler for Some Good Rules for Christians:

Luke 10:27 (Love God Above All, And Your Neighbor as yourself)
And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.

Matthew 7:12 (Do unto others)
Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

Matthew 5:43-48 (Pray for those that persecute you)
Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Luke 6:27-29 (Love your enemies.)
But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you. And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloak forbid not to take thy coat also.

If they find a Christian mistaken in a field which they themselves know well and hear him maintaining his foolish opinions about our books, how are they going to believe those books in matters concerning the resurrection of the dead, the hope of eternal life, and the kingdom of heaven, when they think their pages are full of falsehoods on facts which they themselves have learnt from experience and the light of reason? Reckless and incompetent expounders of holy Scripture bring untold trouble and sorrow on their wiser brethren when they are caught in one of their mischievous false opinions and are taken to task by those who are not bound by the authority of our sacred books.
Isaiah 8:12-13 (NIV) "Do not call conspiracy everything that these people call conspiracy; do not fear what they fear, and do not dread it. The Lord Almighty is the one you are to regard as holy, he is the one you are to fear, he is the one you are to dread."

Exactly, but I guess they view homosexuality as so much worse than any other sin. I'm not saying that is a Catholic view, that is just what some of my friends probably think.

It seems to me we all sin, and do it constantly.

I agree, people for some odd reason place certain sins above others as if they were worse. The other day I was chatting with a friend while lighting up a cigarette and asked her what the difference was between smoking this cigarette and eating a double thick strawberry cheesecake with extra cream and a hot chocolate drink. We are commanded to look after our bodies so smoking is bad, but is the eat and drink I just mentioned not equally unhealthy for your body? Sooo, the one can't be worse than the other, they are both equally bad! Regarding people who struggle with homosexuality, like every other sin - repent and turn away from it. Go and sin no more. God can and will wipe away all your sins and can set one completely free from it, I am a living example and testimony of that. That doesn't mean temptation won't come, it will and does! So, it is no more yucky than your straight friends having a heavy snogging sesssion with a girl and reaching some base... Sin is sin. People should get over the categorising of sin. Pastor TD Jakes once said that ALL sin can be found in only these three categories: the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eye and the pride of life. Those were the three bullets with which Satan shot Adam and Eve in the Garden with.

Homosexuals can be saved just like everyone else but they cannot hang on to their sin after accepting Christ.
To become a disciple of Christ we are to repent(turn away from)deny ourselves and follow him. We die to our old selves and become a new person.

alexamasan-

We all sin but not all are in the bondage of sin. Christians who have the holy spirit working in their lifes-arn't in bondage to sin and so they don't practice it. But christians arn't sinless until they get to heaven.

Can homosexuals get into heaven? This question must be examined before it can be answered. What exactly is a "homosexual." Is it a person who engages in homosexual acts, or is it a person who is a homosexual, because they are genetically different from folks who are sexually attracted to the opposite sex. The Bible seems to quite clearly address folks who engage in a pattern of homosexual acts, saying they are practicing sin.

Now can folks who "practice" sin as opposed to stumble and sin while doing their best to not sin, get into heaven. Would God accept that they believe from the heart that Jesus is Lord and are committed to try to be Christ-like? I doubt it. So is engaging in homosexual activity like jumping off a bridge, you make the choice to do it, but once you do, there is no turning back, because the addiction is overpowering? I do not think the Bible answers that question either. One thing is for sure, I gave my life to Christ when I was 15, and I still have sinful habits to this day. But I know they are sinful and I do not try to tell others it is ok to sin.

All sin is equally deserving of divine punishment, but not all sins are equal in their immediate consequences. I can steal a cookie from Grandma's cookie jar and, even if I'm caught, not suffer any truly serious repercussions. This is not the case if I murder someone, however. I can be a miserable gossip and never suffer as I would if I got caught robbing the local bank.

While homosexuality is not worse in the sense that it is no more worthy of God's judgment than any other sin is, it does involve an unnatural twisting or perversion of God's intended design and in this respect is more abhorrent to many people.

As several have already noted, homosexuality is not beyond God's capacity to forgive or to change. He can free from the power of homosexual sin those who want to be free.

One other thing: There is no concrete evidence that homosexuality is genetic. There may be biological factors which contribute to homosexual tendencies, but no one is forced by their genes to be homosexual.

Peace.
