I had a very vivid dream last night. I was in a rather large house somewhere. There were other people in the house besides me, but I don't know who they were. I wasn't living in the house, it was more like I was a visitor who was staying maybe a few days.
At some point, one of the other people brought in a large male African lion. The lion could be friendly at times, but if he was hungry or grouchy he could also make you his lunch. The problem was, you never had any way of knowing when the lion was "safe" and when he wasn't.
I remember everyone kind of made a game out of hiding from the lion in the house and trying to avoid him. They mostly seemed to think it was fun, hiding from the lion, like a game of "cat and mouse", but I was very serious about it, fearing for my life.
I don't remember much else after that part of it, so I think the dream ended.
I know Satan is described as "like a roaring lion", but I didn't really feel that the lion in the dream represented Satan, though I'm not sure.
Ideas?

It just sounds like you are taking a serious approach to your Walk with God and you have some around our or feel your environment feel like its a game. You know truth so continue your walk. And you should Fear God! Because there is none above him!
That's an interesting thought. Although while I don't feel that the lion was meant to represent Satan, neither do I feel that it was meant to represent God, especially. The lion had a distinct sense of danger and scariness surrounding it. Not evil, necessarily, but like you had to be walking on eggshells, so to speak, so as not to 'set the lion off'.

1 Pt. 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
1 Jn. 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
And yes, some toy with things they shouldn't be toying with (you were a visitor).

God is faithful, through whom you were called into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Now I exhort you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all agree and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be made complete in the same mind and in the same judgment. 1 Corinthians 1:9-10
Can you think of anything in your life that causes
the same sense of 'having to walk on egg shells,
because you don't what could set it off'... of having
to hide from it?

Oh, yeah. Although most of it is personal, so I don't wish to talk about it. But even so, none of that really seems to fit the theme of the dream.

Yeah.It reminds me of some persons who are like that.Maybe that means a person who behaves like that. Please ask the Lord to reveal the dream to you.God bless.
You used the word African, and I think when these descriptors are in dreams, they often direct you to the real details.
The lion sounds like a leader of a country, who is erratic and unpredictable. Being in the same house could be a type of alliance or agreement, where you found yourself (or your country) closer than you normally would be. Not being in your house, it sounds like you needed to enter an agreement you wouldn't have chosen yourself... not on your turf.
In the US, there are some basic cultural assumptions that people mean what they say, or will understand a universal code of ethics, even if they don't follow it. Not every country approaches ethics the same way.
In some cultures, winning or gaining is more important. Loyalty. Dedication to the country. Whatever. People can delight in how they tricked someone, without feeling social rejection.
Being hungry or grouchy shows a more carnal way of making decisions -- based more on need than ideals. This is how some countries have to survive. We have the luxury of being able to say we could do without.
China has been so involved in African dealings lately, that they are holding an official meeting this week in Egypt for a bilateral agreement.
- Prayers for agreements we find ourselves in, our respective countries participate in. Justice and sensibility, fairness among all. Finding ways to meet needs through assistance and cooperation rather than response to erratic behavior... control through drama. --
