Back in July I got this as part of my Sky+ package. It continually asked me to register. This was impossible even with long phone calls with them. It seems to be a disasterous anti virus with this rediculous problem getting registered. With all the advances in technology we hear about you would think this would not be a problem.
Uninstall that crapware, and install a good antivirus program. I use Avast, and it's free.

I have no problem with McAfee. My dad uses AVG and had problems with it on his old computer. Surprised that you had problems... so far it's been good for me! But I got it free from my guy's grad school.

Both McAfee and Norton have horrible detection systems. They often miss or wrongfully diagnose viruses on your computer. What's more pathetic is that they can't seem to build a decent protection program with the money they make from the amount of people who buy their trash.

Ugh, not a fan of McAfee. It's even worse than teh nortonz.
I recommend ESET NOD32 Antivirus. It's $40 for a 1-year subscription, and worth every penny. It is extremely light-weight (right now, it is using less than 4MB of RAM on my system), has consistently been rated #1 in heuristics. My old workplace was an ESET partner and I recommended this product to hundreds of people and never heard a single complaint.
There are two other antivirus products I feel comfortable recommending: BitDefender and Kaspersky, but both of these are resource hogs. This is why I prefer NOD32 over any other product.
As for free solutions, Avast is by far the best in my experience. AVG and ClamWin leave a lot to be desired; I recommend staying away from them.
