What are We All Looking For?

Everyone is looking for the same basic things in life. Fulfillment, satisfaction, comfort and security. Some of us will go to any length to get these things, but sadly, we will look for them in the wrong places. Therefore we remain truly unfulfilled, unsatisfied, without comfort and security, and it shows through our striving and fighting with one another and all our failed relationships.

So what truly fulfills and satisfies us?
It is this one thing.... getting to know God Almighty in a personal and intimate way through Jesus Christ His Son. God wants to pour His love and His life into each and every one of us, making us truly fulfilled and satisfied. It is God's intention to do good and not harm us in any way. The human race is in a fallen state and God desires to reconcile us to Himself. God wants us to know that He truly loves us, as any father would love his child and much more, and that He has a good plan for each and every one of our lives.

God's love for us is eternal, unconditional and without measure. His love is what truly fulfills, satisfies, comforts and gives us security. Nothing else will.

Ultimately, He wants us to live forever with Him in His Kingdom, and with all who turn back to Him in humility.

Jesus said:
"I am the door: if any man enter in by Me, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. The thief comes not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that you might have life, and that you might have it more abundantly." John 10: 9-10

"I am the bread of life: he that comes to Me shall never hunger; and he that believes on Me shall never thirst." John 6:35

"For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world might be saved through Him." John 3: 16-17

"I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live forever: and the bread that I will give is My flesh, which I will give for the life of the world." John 6:51

I will definitely echo 357magnum!

The truth about Christianity can best be explained by this simple parable:

2 men are getting onto a plane and going to the same destination, while boarding each one is given a parachute, both men put them on, but the second man is pulled aside and told that when they have reached a certain point they will be forced to jump from the plane.

While on the plane the first man is figitting around and is so uncomfortable because of the parachute that he loosens the straps up some and is still so uncomfortable he eventually takes the parachute off.

The second man however, with the knowledge that he will have to jump off that plane at some point and will have to put his life in the very parachute that the first man is uncomfortable with, but unlike the first man he is constantly checking his straps to make sure that the parachute is secure and that his safety is assured.

The problem with people today is they do not realize the state that they are actually in, so they try on Christianity for a while, when it is comfortable they are ok with it, but after a while it begins to seem like an old outdated sweater so they eventually take it off. Those people have never met the One True and Holy God, who as Hannah stated in her prayers to Him that He is the Lord of Hosts, the God of everything seen and unseen. He has bought us for a price and we are so precious to Him that He decorates His Kingdom with us.

The beautiful truth about God is that He hands us the parachute that will save us if we only cling to it, and that parachute is Jesus. God met all the requirements to reconcile us to Himself, all that is required to receive this gift is to have a faith that is strong enough to cause us to move and share this gift.

Personally, I'm looking for the truth, probably because in the truth I find some sense of security and certainty. If Jesus correlates with the truth, great, and if not, eventually I'll leave him at the side of the road.

What I'm looking for is to be hole in a flute that Christ's breath moves through. That is the music I listen to.

Hi Prattali

So true what you wrote. Being in the Lord's will is the only way to fulfillment. The only way to fulfillment is to give oneself for His purpose completely.

God's love for us is eternal, unconditional and without measure. His love is what truly fulfills, satisfies, comforts and gives us security. Nothing else will.
Surely this is a exaggeration. For example a lock on my door will give me security. Unless you wat to say that God's love is the condition of that lock existing in the first place, that is.

Your total security should be God foremost, within every aspect of your life. Give your life completely over to His control by seeking Him daily and GET TO KNOW HIM. This is what's important. Does God not put angels in charge over each person that truly loves Him and follows Him? Tnink about it.
