Our God is worthy of the highest praise. Oh, how I love to praise you my Lord, my God, and my salvation! I thank you Father for sending your Son, Jesus in whom all praise has been perfected. I love you lord Jesus for you have brought me out of the world and into the high places to be with you.
It is wonderful for His children to praise God in His temple on the Holy Mountain of the Lord! On that eternal mountain of the Almighty, I can praise my God with joy and with my whole heart, for there in that high place I am filled always with His Spirit. In my Father's temple, I am under God's mighty wing, and I am unafraid.
In that high place the world can not touch me and I have forgotten even my present condition in the world. My consuming desire is to become a worthy offering to the Lord. But, I shall also praise God when I am brought low, for then I wish to be lifted high into His Holy temple once again that I may praise Him even more so. It is a wonderful thing then to praise the lord and I shall praise Him as long as I am able

It's not even "too much Old Testament", in the Old Testament God is compassionate, shows mercy, is patient and long-suffering. Consider the lesson we learn from Jonah, or the word delivered to Ezekiel that God does not desire the death of the wicked, that God takes no pleasure or joy in the destruction of the wicked by desires that that the wicked repent and change their ways so they might live and have life. A friend of mine told me that we should praise God in all things, even in our difficulties for if we believe that we are God's children and precious in His eyes, then we should remember that He knows our circumstances and is taking us through them.

God is so good to us, but why do we allow ourselves to become so distressed by our circumstances that we forget His goodness? Even in our trials He is there with us every step of the way if only we were to stop and listen.
