It is the word Of God and to Say otherwise is Calling God a liar!!
*wonders when this turned into a thread about Biblical inerrancy*
Back to the original topic, I can answer an emphatic "NO" to the last question. Otherwise, I'll have to think on these questions and return to this thread when I'm more coherent.

Before I say much about what I think, I'd like to use this as a chance to ask for some feedback...1. What do you all believe, really believe, about death?2. What is it... and, what is it like to go through it?3. What do you really believe happens when we die? What kind of judgment takes place? What is that like? What about heaven/hell/purgatory etc? 4. Does someone like me go straight to hell? Please feel free to be completely honest in responding (but if this is too morbid for some, I understand).
What do I believe about death?
I believe it's the great equalizer. We all will come to the banks of that river and cross over at some point in time. No status, no aspiration, no ambition, no power on Earth will turn our journeys away from that destination.
No man measures more than another in that regard.

Paxi....what people believe, or want to believe about Death, does not change what the word of God, rightly divided has to say about death.
To Sum up just read through Revelations, because the Bible never contradicts itself in regards to death, from begining to end...
The Dead in Christ rise first......the rest of dead lived not until the thousand years where up...etc etc.
The Bible IS a reliable Source!!! It is the word Of God and to Say otherwise is Calling God a liar!! God's Word is complete Truth and He is the word, the Living word. He is the same yesterday and today and forevermore, His word is surely faithful and true and His goodness and mercy shall endure forever....John 1:14 The word became flesh and Made His dwelling among Us . We have seen His Glory of the One and Only, Who came from the Father, full of Grace and Truth...Amen....Dave
Well said.....
Do not ever be afraid to come forward like that again......The word of God can be trusted...
Paxi1334! You say all religions are wrong and perhaps You are partially correct, but we do have the word of God as Our guide and truth and without Our precious Holy Spirit as an interpreter of what is true and good and without Faith , how can we know the way? How can We know what is good and what is evil without knowing the way?
Does your statement also mean that Our Faith is Wrong? If all religions are wrong is Our faith wrong? If this is so , Then My Faith in Jesus as My True Savior and Lord must also be wrong? I Think Not, and even on here I believe that there are those that would agree with Me. Look at the sunny Side and always on the sunny side and Your paths will light up brightly with Jesus love and care. We have everything to gain in Christ Jesus. His Love and Mercy Sees no bounds ...Amen....Dave

I saved that comic I'd also go through the left door, since the theological premise of which I'm most certain is that God does indeed have a sense of humor!

1. What do you all believe, really believe, about death?
I believe it's just a ceasing of being. It's kind of hard to explain, but I think less and less that there is really some kind of light, that it's instantaneous (sp?), or some magical experience. Life seems like it takes a long time, but in reality it is nothing compared to eternity, so why would death be any different? Why would everything just fall right into place so quickly? It doesn't make sense to me.
What do you really believe happens when we die?
Well, I don't believe it's necessarily like "puragtory" but more like I said before, we just kind of hang out without knowing it. Like when you are a baby, highly unaware of the world around us. I think that with death comes a new life, and like a new baby in a new world, it takes lots of time to grow to realize our surrounding. We just kind of cease living when we die and things don't take off for a while.
What kind of judgment takes place?
What is that like?
I tend to think of it like I saw in a little "Revelations" comic that I was given at a festival. Like God's judgement takes a long time to get through, because the case has to be weighed and measured, the reasons need to be seen, like a movie playing out in front of us.
What about heaven/hell/purgatory etc?
I'm not really sure, but I imagine Heaven would be better than Earth and Hell would just be the seperation from God, which would pretty much suck in my opinion.
4. Does someone like me go straight to hell?
Well, I don't really know you and where you are spiritually and I'm not God, so I can't really tell you that.

You always marry the wrong person… love does not create marriage;
rather marriage provides a good training ground to teach us what love involves.
