is self confidence a sin?

in my past experience when i lost my job i had a hard time looking for one bec. the interviewers can sense that i lack self confidence. pastors would quote a verse that 'we can do all things thru christ who strengthens us' the question to that verse is HOW. they would also say that it is not biblical, a sinso HOW can that verse apply to the read world.the problem with pastors is they quote broad generalized verses and they are like computer instructors who would be theoretical but are not HANDS ON. they think that one verse will solve a person's problem but life is complicated and not constant. that is when i get frustrated bec. pastors, christians don't seem to understand what other people are going through. like the pharisees, they quote scriptures, accuse people of sin and they lack understanding of what others are going through. they even add more suffering on the shoulders of those who hurt.

I do not believe that pastors have the intent to hurt people. I do believe that the truth can take people through a process that's painful. With that said: The bible also tells us that the letter (scripture) kills but the power of the word of God is life. (paraphrased). How can you apply this? Look at scripture, and sermons, and personal bible study as a filling process. Go to God empty and expect to be filled up. Don't go to an interview until you have prayed and then go expecting God to be there with you.The word of God was not given to you to defeat you, it's given to you to give you life.Pastors are not trying to defeat you, they are trying to fill you up.Unless you can change the way you view this, nothing I say here will help you.God bless

well that the problem. as i said pastors' teachings are vague & broad. one verse has many meanings. they can either free a person or they can put them in bondage.when the blind man was asking for healing, the people said to shut up but christ said 'your faith has healed you.'another is when christ healed a woman who was crippled on a sabbath, a synagogue leader was indignant & said 'there are six days of work, but it is unlawful to heal on the sabbath.'christ was angry because he said this woman was crippled for 18 years. he gave them answers.just bec. there are christians who does not agree with your teachings, you think that they lack faith or they have the problem. many christians are suffering and they are looking for answers. but the only thing they get are vague & receive it from experts in quoting the bibleoh by the way, when christ saw the people hungry, he has compassion & mercy and he gave them food to eat & did not quote a verse in the bible for them to be filled & send them away.if that is your attitude, I will pray for you so you can have more understanding & compassionhave a nice day

It might help if you told me what scripture has you in bondage. One last thing:What you need to understand is Pastors are people, Jesus was God, we follow Him, we are not Him. If someone tries to help you and you are not helped in the process they still tired to help you. Sometimes people use methods that seem harsh, but they are meant to help. And often we fail
