With the jewelry example I would be happy for a reformed thief to look after my jewelry store. I have hired reformed thieves before. I believe in the redemptive power of Jesus Christ.
With the paedophile issue, I would not allow someone with previous convictions to do that. Firstly, because I do not want to put temptation in their way. Sexual temptation is a powerful force as I am sure everyone would agree.
Secondly because the value of a child is infinite, and there is simply no point of taking a risk.
Thirdly because we are supposed to follow the laws of the land and the UK laws are very stringent about who can work with children.
Blessings,
Benjamin

Romans 7:8 But sin, seizing an opportunity through the commandment, produced in me all kinds of covetousness. For apart from the law, sin lies dead.
The proper way to read Romans 3:31.
3:31. Do we overthrow the OT by the justifying faith of Jew and Gentile? No, we uphold the OT.
While it's true I have no idea what you spend your time thinking about on the inside, your posts generally focus on God's judgment, wrath, discipline and judgment. Also, the fact that you refer to God's Love, grace and mercy as the "fluffy and cosy bits" of the Bible tells me that perhaps you don't quite comprehend how great the Love of the Father is towards us.
What's ironic, is that almost all of your replys to my posts are critical of me, pointing out my errors!
You seem to claim that I have no right to be critical of Todd Bentley. Why are you allowed to point out my errors, but I'm not allowed to point out Bentleys?
Why are you so anxious to 'cast stones' at me?

Tobias hit the nail on the head when he said;
So while you are focused on the "dangerous wolves that are circling the flock", you completely miss what the Spirit of God did in spite of Todd Bentley.
I didn't miss the harm done to the church through Todd Bentley.
The NT never condones sinfulness or false teaching; and never suggests we overlook them because the Spirit appears to be moving.

D. L. Moody said, "I’d rather be able to pray than be a great preacher; Jesus Christ never taught his disciples how to preach, but only how to pray."

People the man is no longer in ministry. Plus according to him he has asked God's forgiveness. How do you know he did not?
Was you with him 24/7/365?
Do you even realize if he did ask God's forgiveness then God forgave him?
Who are you to decide if God forgave him you will tie him to the stake anyway?
Have you not heard let he who is without sin cast the first stone?
Have you heard ALL have sinned and come short of the glory of God?
Not a single person here is innocent of sin yet some of act "mightier than thou". Take a look at where God brought YOU from. Yet when you asked forgiveness God forgave. He is no respector of persons. Meaning you are not any better than anyone else in the eyes of God.

Probably the same Guy who hand picked a thief and a traitor to be one of His disciples and handle the money bag.

God didn't send His Son to pay for the forgiveness of your sin, and then decide He is going to require you to make installment payments. He only requires you to believe that the FULL PAYMENT was done, over 2000 yr. ago..........then you'll stop trying to make the installments on something you could never pay for anyway. The Good News is that you are debt free!

Is this always your endgame? Why do you always turn this into an issue of character rather than simply having a calm discussion? Just because I think you're wrong doesn't mean I'm "critical" of you. This is not what "casting stones" look like. I believe that you are sincere in your beliefs, but I believe that you favor judgment and wrath over grace and mercy.
Furthermore, I am not perfect. God is transforming me more and more into His image on a daily basis, but I ain't there yet. So let's try to not look at me as the example, because I will fail you every time.

I would submit to you that FAR more harm has been done to the church by Todd Bentley's "warners". Rather than acknowledge the fact that people who sought God found Him and the Spirit moved on their behalf, they've cast a shadow of doubt over those people who were genuinely touched by God through Lakeland and/or Bentley. People who knew enough to seek God and not Todd Bentley now find their very real experiences with God called into question by those who have made it their self-appointed duty to "watch out" for them. The very people that the watchman purport to help are the people they typically hurt the most.

Who is condoning sinfulness?
Let me ask you... do you think the father in the parable of the Prodigal Son was "condoning" his son's sinful lifestyle when he ran to him, embraced him and threw him a party? His brother sure did. But Jesus said that is how the Kingdom of God is supposed to operate.
