That's not really the problem. The problem is he cheated on his wife then they divorced and he remarried the other woman and then was "restored" to ministry less than a year later.
He's remarried and putting his life back together. Fine.
But restored to the ministry.
Less. than. a. year. later.
Has the body of Christ lost its mind???
When false teachers counsel false teachers, then what else would you expect?
(INTERRUPTION!!! I'm terribly sorry, but it appears that due to binding rulings inacted by the church over the centuries, we have had to relieve the body of Christ of its brain some time ago, until a certain time in the future (that has yet to be determined) where we decide the body can act responsibly and in accordance with the orthodox teachings of the Christian church with the foreamentioned brain.)

Ok so how long should the restoration process take? Is there a guide or manual we should follow? I guess the more prudent question for you is should he EVER be restored to the ministry or is it more appropriate to have a one strike your out type of policy? Kind of like, well pretty much any other evangelical type who screws up.
On that note I'd be interested to know how long people believe King David should have been punished for murdering Uriah and committing adultery with Bathsheba. I mean if this same thing were to happen today in our culture and not then.

Thats easy.............the bible tells us:
10 Now, therefore, the sword will never depart from your house, because you despised me and took the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be your own.'
2 Samuel 12

Same with other big name ministers in a similar position. John Hagee, or Michael Reid from Peniel Church.
They are restored for the sake of the widow's son.

If you go back about a year on this forum you will see hundreds of threads on him. WOF members thought he was marvellous, the others thought he was a weasel. Then 'revelations' about his conduct started to come out and everyone thought he was a weasel.

He ran a highly publicized tent show in Lakeland, Florida last year.
Bad doctrine. Angel worship. Fake healings. False claims of resurrections. Other stuff.
Many people spent months pointing all this out to others who refused to see. Finally, ABC did a strory on the show and exposed it to the world for the fraud it was. Todd suddenly left Lakeland after he was exposed, dumped his half-crippled wife and two kids and married their younger nanny.

If you read further God gives David another son, Solomon, with Bathsheba and grants him the favor to conquer other lands.
Yes, there were consequences to David's sin but that didn't mean there wasn't restoration.
Let's not downplay David's consequences. I think there is a tendency for us to glaze over the messy details of the rest of Davids life.
Because of what David did his family was torn in half. One of his sons raped another sister and Absalom began a civil war that sent David into exile and tore the kingdom in half for a short time. The sword did not leave David's house. The bible tells us his sin did leave some terrible consequences for him and his family.
