| Any Oriental Orthodox that are into motorcycles? Blessings all, I live in Sydney, Australia and have noticed a growing number of our people, especially our youth, are getting into motorcycles. Although as yet it isn't a lot, I've been thinking about whether forming a Church bike club might be a good idea.
My reasoning is it is safer to ride in a group because it makes you easier to see and we all know bikes can be dangerous. The more experienced could help and guide the less experienced. We could have rides and events of a spiritually wholesome nature which might help prevent some from riding around with outsiders and be lured to less then desirable places. Fellowship. As a club we could help out at the various Churches. It could help raise public awareness of the Orthodox faith by helping at outreach services etc.
I personally have been riding for about 29 years and have had my share of injuries and problems and no doubt others have as well and I would like to see these new riders learn from our experience rather than suffer them themselves.
If any of you have any ideas or opinions or if you live in or near Sydney I'd love to hear what you think. Thanks.
P.S. We have recently set up a website for the club at cocmc.proboards.com
At this stage there isn't much on it except a few posts to generate a little conversation. If anyone is interested in discussing bikes as well as our faith, please feel free to join in even if you can't participate in the rides. All are welcome.
