But if you had something else in mind, you might have to explain in easy steps!
No, I didn't really. Just thought if you wanted to ask questions to a pastor. But, yeah, I understand what you are saying. They probably could not be of much practical help.

Bless you for thinking of it though.
We've decided not to rush into the nearest church but visit a few different ones and wait and see where the Lord leads.
Möchtest du es wirklich wissen? Melde dich, wenn du das nächste Mal in Europa bist. Dann gehen wir nach Amsterdam ...
I don't plan on being in Europe any time soon (unfortunately).
And yes, I would like to understand Anfechtung, but hopefully I can do so without visiting Amsterdam (although I'm sure visiting some places in Amsterdam would certainly be enough to produce feelings of Anfechtung.)

There may be a CoE pastor around who is Lutheranesque in his theology. They do exist, though maybe not in the Shetlands.

You just might have to hold a "Hammer of God" party every Friday night with chilled wine, fruit, and cheese. Count me in!
From there, you might start a home church! It's what the early Christians did when Paul wasn't around. He wrote them letters from prison. Remain grounded in the Word and see where God takes you.
Blessings,
Cos

Reason: add the wine
So far, one of the main things I have gleaned from the book, is that there must be strong foundations.
I see that all the new ideas, are not new ideas. They circulate frequently and people who do not have a foundation of law and gospel, turn to them.
I didn't have this foundation and I've been swept away with many new waves of doctrine, and I see it all around me in other people.
Still much to learn.
That's why I suggested the wine and cheese. But being in a church of 5 people that agree on Law/Gospel is better than 500 erring souls who interact by:
1) all looking the same direction
2) have little to do with eachother on a regular basis
3) never share a witness of Christ
4) have never had an opportunity to minister to another member
You have much to offer. Go slow. Foundation is important. Luther's sermons are online and other resources.
A new church has started recently, just a few miles away, but I'm not sure about it. My friends want me to join but I have reservations.
It's called Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries, and has its base in Lagos, this is one of their pages. Mountain of Fire And Miracles Ministries
they specialise in deliverance and are currently on a 70 day fast, which I find a bit puzzling, they don't eat or drink til 3 pm for 70 days.
Obviously the scripture where Jesus says 'This kind only comes out by prayer and fasting' is what they base this on.
So, if it's wrong, why is it wrong?
