That's beautiful what you said about Jesus praisehimalleluia! Yes I agree...the video clip is lovely. I ordered the DVD but unfortunately I only received part 1 of the movie! I'm getting my money refunded. here's what i thought (before you decide to spend the money.)
The english title of this film is Maria Daughter of Her Son. It seems to me that perhaps the goal of this film is to show that Jesus is going to eventually be much more than a Son to His mother. He will become all things, Son, and even Husband because He is God. at one point joseph says..."Jesus must become everything to you. You are to be totally dedicated to Him...He is your Husband," (something like that. I only watched part 1 once.) the process is Mary seeing that Jesus is greater than anything she can comprehend. But some of this process seemed a little harsh to me...
Yes...it's faithful to Christian doctrine (Christ is the Son of God, the virgin birth, the perpetual virginity of Mary, miracles of Jesus) but there's a lot of disappointing fiction in it. usually I don't mind biblical fiction if it's done right...Ben Hur etc. but the films attempt to portray a very human Joseph as he struggles to grasp his role in Jesus' life and the immensity of who Christ actually is, in Jesus' younger years (as a boy) Joseph slaps him across the face for what Joseph views as disrespect. and the way Jesus talks to Mary as an adult lacks emotion. he chastises her for following him when he's preaching. when Mary tells Christ that John the baptist is in prison Jesus acts like its no big deal, John is finished his mission and Mary better get used to accepting the will of God. Jesus seems to imply that she thinks too much like a mother. She needs to be stretched to accept what she cannot understand. oh yes...and then there is Elizabeth complaining about how unfair God is for allowing John to be martyred. Mary is constantly accused by neighbors and Jesus' cousins of not disciplining her son and teaching him respect for her. She herself has struggles with grasping his mission.
I think she would have had more of a clue and I also would have liked to have seen Jesus portrayed with more compassion for her.
Some better moments is Jesus telling mother that she is a gift to him (just before he's about to begin his public ministry.) Jesus counting stars when he is a boy and saying he calls them all by name. the film portrays him being aware of his divinity even as a young boy.
yet this is a far cry from the beautiful conversation between mother and son I saw in the clip at the resurrection which was the reason why I became interested in this film. I will give this film a second watch and see if i think of it differently in light of what i shared here about what the movie is trying to say. I really would like to watch part two thus giving part 1 context.
here's another link where you can order the DVD. it's not the same place I orginally ordered from.
Sweet and lovely is He, beautiful is my Jesus forever.
I am blessed, for I am with my Love;
at ease, for I am with my Friend;
happy, for I am with my Brother;
thankful to be with my Savior;
in bliss in the arms of my Lord.
Jesus ever true, Yeshua my home,
whose life was love and whose death was salvation,
be also the love in this life and salvation in Life to come.
You are always loving, always dear;
I am happily Yours forever.
You O Christ are the reason I exult,
the fire in my heart.
My life is Yours, dear Life,
and You are my soul.
Ever will I yearn to be with You,
and when I am with You I will be happy.

Lord...
I am coming to you —
but only with your mercy.
-Saint Catherine of Siena
Beautiful Jesus, sweet Lord of love, bring rest to the souls in purgatory. O Jesus, my God and theirs, have mercy on them- Your family, Your lovers and friends, Your servants- O Jesus!
Beloved Savior! O Christ my Happiness! have mercy! O Blood of Jesus!
Yahshua blessed savior of Yah, Son of God forever ours, through the precious blood
spent to redeem us all.
How can we but cry out with love to Him who gave His all, so that we may enter into His preseance boldly, for the veil has been torn. Praise Yahweh all you people, Our Father has given the most precious gift that cost Him much, but it pleased Him to crush the Son for us. Thanksgiving to pour out to Him always and forever.
thanks Jeremy for your poem that caused the promptings of my heart to pour out for Him our blessed savior, bridegroom, king, Lord.

see what happens when I get all flustered in my praise I get your name wrong sorry Brother Jonathan, I hope that's right, my memory isn't what it used to be. But thanks to the Lord it is getting better.
