He hides out till we go to bed then he slams against the bedroom door and whines nearly all night. Want him?
A pox on all cats. Too bad kittens grow up into cats. Mumble mumble, mumble.

Sure, I'll take him. Doesn't seem like he's wanted where he is. Such a loving (?) home. Give the beastie a chance and take him to a shelter.

Congrats on the new puppy Myanchor - I feel the same about the kittens turning into cats, I have only ever had 1 cat that I totally adored but someone stole her
But if I may offer advice on the urinating anywhere he wants, may be a UTI, it's just one of the signs of having one. Antibiotic may clear it up. Also the whining he is probably in heat, if he isn't fixed may help to do so

The couch was ruined and stunk to high heaven yet my older daughter wanted it when she moved into an apartment. This cat has gone into the joint closet and done it on the shelving, the clothes on the shelving, the floor. This cat has done it everywhere in the basement. And his litter box is kept clean and available. This cat has shredded clothes. This cat has scratched both my wife and my daugter and THAT is not permitted, no animal gets a bye if they damage my family. He is allowed to live by me only because my wife and daughter care for him. But I despise him. Denigrate me if you will because I despise cats and you love them but I don't find them attractive whatsoever. Especiailly if they prevent me from sleeping again and again.
They are sneaky, they are mean spirited and they stink up everywhere they go. I despise them. I tolerated his actions when he was a kitten because he was young and dumb, now he refuses to do the things he was trained to do, like go in the litter box.
There's a good chance he's got a problem with what's in the litterbox. Going to the bathroom all over the place is the sign of a very upset cat. Angry, ticked off and scared. Not a nice place to be. If you dislike cats so much, don't abuse this one, just stay away from it. He's much smaller than you and doesn't really have a chance against someone so much bigger than he is.
If he bothers you, then use earplugs. He's doing all he can to let you know how unhappy he is. Please talk your wife and daughter into taking this beastie to a shelter, he may be adopted by someone who will love him. If not, he'll be dead, which is better than living so miserably.
