What did Jesus mean when he said this,"Whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst"
He did not mean that if we come to him and have one drink, of that life giving spring we shall walk away and say, "I'm satisfied. I don't want any more!"
Oh no. People may think that having met Jesus once, we have enough, but that is not true. What Jesus says is this...."If anyone drinks of the water that I shall give they will desire no other water. They will only want that water. For the water that I shall give will satisfy the deep longings of the human soul"
This poor girl had tried so often to quench her thirst, from the broken cisterns of life, and the world. Without Jesus Christ and the water that He gives so freely human hearts and souls remain parched and dry. And having tried so much.
Jesus said, "He that cometh to me shall never thirst"
But notice, it is not that we are satisfied, having had a drink. The water that Jesus gives becomes a well of water, springing up, bubbling up, into everlasting life. Flowing through this life and throughout all eternity, meeting every need. And the needs of others too.
In saying this I think Jesus was thinking of the city of Sychar, and that this woman by and by was going to know Him, and the life giving offer He made to her that day.
That offer remains open........to all who are thirsty.

I hear you friend.....and appreciate your thoughts......But forgive me if I do not fully comprehend what you say........
But such does not matter........What is paramount is that you get a drink........It was Jesus who said "Let him drink"........
