hello every1 i,ve been saved now 4 the last wks but i was wondering i have a passion 4 combat sports like muay thai and so on and was thinking is it ok 2 do them or even compete when u have been saved
no, we are all different members of the same body. Meaning we all can have different way of expressing ourselves, and still be worshiping the same God.

I like muay thai and brazilian jiu jitsu. What are you thinking? God did not create that, too? What about chess?
Of course it is okay to compete in that.
What are you thinking?
I would suggest chilling on the idea that God disapproves and try and listen to the Spirit.
I kind of know what you mean..here lately ive been going to the gym alot in an attempt to become healthy and strong cause I dont want to be overweight cause I am a little. Ive been wanting to add more muscle to my body. Here lately ive been wondering is it vain for me to want to be strong feeling and want to look good/healthy. It says in the bible that exercise will benefit the body for only a certain amount of time, I forgot exactly what it says about this and ive been curious about it for awhile.

Hi Jerry your response caused me to look up the passage that you were writing about here it is:
1Ti 4:7 But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise thyself [rather] unto godliness.
1Ti 4:8 For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.
We must be careful in what we become passionate over, this says that godliness is to be strived for not muscles, a muscular body can cause us to be vain in our indevours. The world pushes weight conciousness, overly concerned with the flesh takes away from concern for the spiritual things that should be our concern. If our spiritual life is in line with God then our flesh will submit through the power of the Holy Spirit and we will have good health.

Well, there are guys like Matt Hughes and Chuck Norris who think so. If you want my opinion, it all comes down to malice. Do you have malice when training or in a match, or not. Jesus taught that we are not to be malicious. My personal opinion is that if there is a "clean" form of violence, then Jet Li's character at the end of "Fearless" embodies it - he had no hard feelings towards anybody. I could of course, be wrong.

Hi Jeff, thanks for the answer. Here lately when ive been going to the gym im always trying to think to myself "I should not become proud of this, its only to be healthy" and im try to not let it get to my head,I do believe it causes is to start thinking more of our selves when it goes to the head which adds to pride and I know thats not good we are to be humble. I dunno if working out itself is vanity but perhaps the reasons we put behind it make it that way..sometimes I get aggrevated with myself because I do and say things at times that I perhaps shouldnt..and I feel it makes me feel bad, thats when I try to remind myself we cannot be perfect but it shoudnt keep us from trying, I read that a rightous man fails seven times and still doesnt give up or something like that again I dunno the exact verse. I also remember reading we are suppose to take care of our bodies cause the holy spirit actually lives within us. I also remember reading (again not sure about the exact verse) to take care of our selves because a servant that cant do something isnt as useful as he could be or something like that, im not sure if thats how its said or not heh.
If you doing this to be in shape and stay healthy then I don't see a problem in it-again, pray and ask the Holy Spirit. If its a competition and you make someone bloody-it seems like violence like the brazian stuff-it doesn't seem right.
