LOL. That's like asking some one "Hey, are you sleeping?"

I think it ended anyway before your post. And I'm not cutting anything off. The problems begin in your head, they only manifest themselves in your hard. Need to sort out your head. Getting rid of the symptoms does not cure the disease.

Cheers,

Rudolf

Hey, I didn't say it, Jesus did. Do you think you're smarter than Jesus?

The problem isn't the words... it's the fact that we all know you use them sarcastically. There's no way any of us think an atheist/nihilist is taking the Bible literally after all. Therefor you just bring tacky humor to the situation -- thus killing the entire topic, meh.

Personally, I don't take the Bible literally, never have, neeever will. People did some crazy stuff back then like cutting off fingers or hands (for stealing, and for other things) -- hello culture! We live in a different time. Jesus was a man who lived within the context of ancient culture as well. He said things they could relate to. He was also trying to make a point more than anything.

But I suppose the conservatives will be after me with their pitchforks for saying that

I wasn't being sarcastic. I'm not a christian and I don't believe the bible is the word of god, but I'm familiar with it and with theology in general, and I know that y'all do believe in it. More to the point, while it's difficult to take my point seriously, it does exist in christian tradition. The early christian scholar and theologian Origen, for example, castrated himself in accordance with Mathew 19:12.
If loping something off is a little too, I don't know, visceral our delicate modern sensibilities, chemical castration certainly remains an option. This is the 21st century, after all.

A long engagement suppose could work it just depends. I know a couple that were engaged for 2 ½ years their still married for about 10 years now. Its been years since I have seen them but I think I recall they said they waited to finish school.

I’ve always found them a bit odd but maybe you could consider a pre-engagement ring otherwise known as a promise ring.

I've always found promise rings to be childish.

Its like saying "I promise I will promise to marry you."
