After you repented, did you ask the holy spirit to come into your life? It seems like you are trying to be a christian without Gods power. I would pray and ask for the holy spirit to help you. Sometimes this happens with christians. We are human and we can't grow in Christ without the holy spirit - our human efforts alone won't do it.
Do you pray and read the bible daily?

You were forgiven 2000 years ago That's when Christ did it all for you because we can't ever do it ourselves. All of creation is contained within God. We cannot get away from Him. You are in the middle of the unchangeable circle of God's love, always. All your wrongdoings, past,present and future have been forgiven and buried with Christ. Scripture tells us our life is hidden with Christ in God. That is our status, not something that comes and goes depending on how 'good' we have been. That's why the word 'gospel' really means 'good news'.

He's one of my favourite authors! But he sometimes needs further reflection. He too was a man of his times and some things have changed a bit over time with better understanding of old texts and their associated doctrines.

Dear Orahh. You had some good replies, here is one more. You say that you feel you are in a battle, and you want to be on God`s side. It can be a battle, a battle with Satan and his demons. They want you to feel you are losing, but keep remembering that Jesus vanquished Satan on Golgotha, and Satan lost, Satan thought he had won. But then God raised Jesus, He is the VICTOR. Whenever Satan, or any of his demons, try to make you believe that you are losing the battle, tell them that you are on God`s side, and the victory was won on Golgotha. After you repented, did you ask Jesus for the Holy Spirit? Human effort alone will not give us the power to live a christian life. Do you read the bible and pray daily or at least 3-4 times a week? Doing this enables us to understand God and have a personal relationship with Him. If we don't talk to God, how can we know Him? As christians we grow daily as its a lifelong lifestyle and process to become more and more like Christ. Daily we chose God. Thus, as time goes on our desire to want to practice sin leaves. We will only be sinless in heaven. It is also important to find friend that are inspiration to your christian walk. Also, one can't go by feelings as they go up and down all the time.
Why Christ died for us: Are you a good person? The Good Test This is why one needs a personal Lord and savior.
Saving faith causes the byproduct of good works. Good works alone doesn't save anyone.
