Creation & EvolutionForum for the discussion of this important topic. This forum is open to non-believers. There is a Christians-only forum in the Christians-only section too.
Thank you for the straightforward answer. Though I don't see denying evolution as a benefit (and I would suppose that many others on this list, Christians included, would agree with me), at least you came right out and said what you meant. Others participating in this thread could learn from you... just hopefully not too much.
Thank you --- I find your reply equally refreshing.
Well, if me putting my head in the sand doesn't show, and show clearly, I need to work on being more convincing, eh?
No one puts their head in the sand when it comes to science like I do --- no one.
And that's a shame --- more Christians need to learn to do it.
You can put your head in the sand, but that means getting off of your computer, walking out the front door and finding the nearest cave to inhabit for the rest of your life.
No healthcare, no electricity, no clean, running water, no gas, no house, no supermarkets, no car, no bicycle, nothing but your cave and your sharpened hunting stick.
No, you simply stick your head in the sand when it comes to the science that you don't understand, and that you've been brainwashed to ignore.

Nope --- not even close, Alunyel.
You see, with God, things are different.
As the saying goes: Aim for earth, you get earth --- aim for Heaven, you get Heaven, with earth thrown in.

sig worthy.

The fact is, your life wouldn't be a fraction as comfortable as it is now, without science. If you want to "stick your head in the sand", feel free, but enjoy your time living in a cave and the next time you get something like cancer, good lick diagnosing it and curing it without the help of a hospital.
Whether or not you believe in God makes no difference.

That's right --- and frankly, I wouldn't mind if science made life even easier.

Um ... at the risk of sounding repetitive --- no, thank you.
We can have the best of both worlds, thanks to a God Who loved us, and died on the Cross for us.
Have you ever wondered how a Christian can sing both of these songs in one service?
I'm satisfied with, just a cottage below; a little silver, and a little gold.
This world is not my home, I'm just a passing through; if Heaven's not my home, then, Lord, what will I do? The angels beckon me from Heaven's open door, and I can't feel at home in this world anymore.
