An atheist just doesnīt believe in gods. Thatīs all there is to it. For what reasons and by application of which rationale (if any) they donīt believe in gods is immaterial for them being atheists.
That is not what is in question here. As I have already stated in my opening post, I know very well the grounds of which one is considered an atheist.
My Question, however, was how one who claims that creation is false, and uses evidence and logic as their sole reason, could believe in some of the crazier things that also have no evidence to support them.

Hoping is much different than believing. I would love it if someone discovered a Sasquatch. On some days, I hope that an earth-shattering discovery like this is made. I think that would be awesome. That does not mean that I believe that Sasquatch exists or that we will ever find one.
