Ya --- I can imagine....You need Raelians for that?
I've been saying that for years.
There is no such thing as a non-creationist.
Yes there is, myself for one.
But of course, when you're in the habit of making up definitions to words as you go along, anything can mean anything, and everybody can be anything you want them to be.
Like I said AV dont confuse creationism with creationist. Also do not use a definition of the two that far exceeds the rest of the world. Your expanding the definition to included things that it doesn't. This is a dishonest method of argument. Trying to bloat the definition so it encompass all people will not shield it from criticism, because everyone else will still be using the actual definition, and not some over expanded worthless definition.

I do think its a bit strange that atheists sometimes get into the whole alien abduction. I think this is rare though

Alien abduction isn't the only woo belief held by atheists I've encountered. Some believe in PSI or Cryptozoology or are 9/11 Truthers.

Not necessarily. As Sagan noted in Cosmos, perhaps we're the first - someone has to be. Or perhaps we're the last - again, someone has to be.

I have a friend who's almost an evangelical atheist and yet he believes 9/11 conspiracy theorists.
When I mentioned this to another friend he theorized that an individual with a personality that tends towards strong, ardent belief is possibly more prone to absurdities, even if they claim to be rational.
Atheism is no guarantee or rationalism or morality. Stalinist Russia is a good example of that. They ignored Darwinian evolution because it didn't fit communism ideology. The agricultural results were disasterous.

Sadly this is not the first I have seen of this. It would appear that a VERY large number of "Atheists"
And you are basing this very large number off of what exactly?

Courage is the price that life exacts for granting peace. The soul that knows it not, knows no release from little things; Knows not the livid loneliness of fear, nor mountain hights where bitter joy can hear the sound of wings. How can life grant us boon of living, compensate for dull gray ugliness and pregnant hate unless we dare the soul's dominion? Each time we make a choice, we pay with courage to behold restless day, and count it fair.

Abductions though? Bollocks. Easily explained by sleep paralysis and a minor hallucination.
I find the phenomenon of sleep paralysis and its related associate, temporal lobe epilepsy, to be deeply fascinating. Especially when you compare the stories of the evil things that come in the night from all around the world and see how similar the underlying experiences are.
Once we had elves abducting and sexually interfering with people when elves were believed in, then we had succubi and incubi abducting and sexually interfering with people when the Church was at its most pervassive, and now, in our technological culture, we have aliens abducting and sexually interfering with people. Fascinating.

Excellent point. It's almost like there is something in the mind of men, that compels them to believe in something supernatural, yet modern. As if we can't cope with the fact that life is not as grand as depicted in the movies and stories. Like people feel the need to believe in the supernatural because it gives them purpose.
