The "this is the word of the Lord" is Anglican/Episcopalian. From what Tonks wrote though, it sounds like the Catholics have a different formula, which might explain it.
If I'm reading the Gospel (not chanting) I'd say "Glory to Thee O Lord" before and after reading it, but that's just me. I'd know what to say to Julian's call&response because my grandmother is high church Anglican, and I'm used to such things

The big question is, are you spinning in the spinny chair? . It's quite fun to gauge peoples' reaction, or at least impress upon people the image of a mentally unstable person.
I was about once every 15-20 minutes just to kill the monotony

The good news: Andrew and my family are leaving tomorrow morning to visit my grandmother for her 80th birthday celebrations on the weekend. All my family are coming including the family I haven't seen for years and years. And I love being over there, and get to introduce Andrew, and show him that part of Australia. And country Australians are like Greeks - family is king, and there must always be more food than we know what to do with.
The bad: there is a lot of packing to do, plus cleaning etc because my mum always decides that the house need cleaning the day before we leave to go anywhere. I have a headache, and hayfever (about to take something for that) and it's a 7 hour car journey tomorrow! Yurgh. Oh well
And poor Andrew had to take his family to the airport today at 6, so he's been working since 7 (he's his own boss) and will probably finish at 5 because a client is going to pay him lots of money to do something at the last minute. He'll sleep tomorrow in the car I suppose...
