so, this might be a little off topic, but last night i was at a praise and worship service for my campus ministry group. i usually don't like to go, but i'm a leader on the spirituality team, so i had to. as i was reading a part from the Gospel of John, out of habit i startd with "a reading from..." and ended with "the Word of the Lord." and not one single person said "Thanks be to God." surely i couldn't have been the only person in the room who knew this, because there were some Catholics and other liturgical people in the room.
Not sure how it is with the other "liturgicals" but in Catholicism it goes:
Before the Gospel Proclamation: Deacon (or Priest): The Lord be with you. All: And also with you. Deacon (or Priest): A reading from the Holy Gospel according to... [Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John] All: Glory to you, Lord!
After the Gospel Proclamation: Deacon (or Priest): The Gospel of the Lord. All:Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ!
The pattern she used was consistent with modern Catholic practice. Because she wasn't doing this in liturgy, and probably didn't chant it, that seems like a reasonible model to use.

The Nicene Creed
I believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, and of all that is seen and unseen. I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father. Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, one in being with the Father through Him all things were made.
For us men and for our salvation He came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit He was born of the Virgin Mary, and became man.
For our sake He was crucified under Pontius Pilate, He suffered and was buried;
On the the third day, He rose again in fulfillment of the Scriptures ; He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father;
He will come again in glory to judge the living and dead. And His kingdom will have no end.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, Who proceeds from the Father, with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified, He has spoken through the prophets. I believe In one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church.
I acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
I look for the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come.

sorry i probably should have clarified.
i was doing what i was familiar with from growing up Episcopalian, since i'm the only one in my campus ministry group who's remotely familiar with Orthodox practices. There are a good number of Catholics in the group, so i figured they might have a clue

The big question is, are you spinning in the spinny chair? . It's quite fun to gauge peoples' reaction, or at least impress upon people the image of a mentally unstable person.
