The High Priest wore white in the first covenant sanctuary, and it is customary for the congregation to gather for Yom Kippur now ddressed in white. Are these symbolic of purity, signifying the forgiveness of sin and or the robe of righteousness? Are they the outfit of the bride? I have heard several ideas as to where the tradition came from, what it means, and how does it play a roll in the end?
If anyone has any suggestions I would like to hear them.

Because I am a gentile and not a Jew raised in the Judaic manner, I can offer little in the rich traditions and can only present what the Bible has inspired me to see. I look forward to those who have the joy of living the traditions and seeing scripture fulfilled not only in the past but now and in the future with Yeshua to present what they have come to know. You after all are the keepers of the living oracles of God and will in the end days lead us further than we can go alone.

In the light of such a view, how do you understand Josephus' account that the Essenes wore only white garments, at all times? Could they be preparing for something? How do you see this?

Essences believed if I undestand correctly that they were already living in a pure state, uncontaminated by the world, the religious mishandling of truth, and in preparedness for His manifestation. For did they not believe it was time for the Messiah, and as John the Baptist said... Repent for the Kingdom of God is at Hand.

Because we know that the scapegoat will appear on earth, we know that the outer court where the scapegoat is kept will also represent the outer court of the Heavenly temple. This is the only time in History where you will have the great deceiver pretending to be Yeshua. This is why there were two identical goats brought to the temple on the Day of Atonement. The prophetic implications are that this is the time that Satan will be before the congregation, for the world to see, representing himself as Christ.
Well, in order for Satan to do a good job he will have to manifest himself as a majestic being probably of dazzling brightness, and probably resembling the description of the Son of God given by John in Revelation 1:13-15
1 Cor 11:14 And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light

2 John 7 For many deceivers have gone out into the world, men who will not acknowledge the coming of Yeshua in the flesh such a one is the deceiver and the antichrist.
So it will be here in the last days of earth's history that there will be a blindness "In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ who is the likeness of God." 2 Cor 4:4 "And they worshiped the dragon which gave power unto the beast:..." Rev 13:4 There are two things that the devil while imitating Christ can not do, he can not be holy, and he can not come in the flesh.

Ezekiel 20:38 And I will purge out from among you the rebels, and them that transgress against me: I will bring them forth out of the country where they sojourn, and they shall not enter into the land of Israel: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
Ezekiel 24:13 In thy filthiness is lewdness: because I have purged thee, and thou wast not purged, thou shalt not be purged from thy filthiness any more, till I have caused my fury to rest upon thee.
The plagues are about to fall and they will not affect the children of God. They are covered from the plagues like days of old by the covenant.
Lev 16:14 And he shall take of the blood of the bullock, and sprinkle it with his finger upon the mercy seat eastward; and before the mercy seat shall he sprinkle of the blood with his finger seven times. 15 Then shall he kill the goat of the sin offering, that is for the people, and bring his blood within the veil, and do with that blood as he did with the blood of the bullock, and sprinkle it upon the mercy seat, and before the mercy seat:16 And he shall make an atonement for the holy place, because of the uncleanness of the children of Israel, and because of their transgressions in all their sins: and so shall he do for the tabernacle of the congregation, that remaineth among them in the midst of their uncleanness.

The Lord revealed to Ezekiel what has been going on in the Holy Place and to cry and sigh for the abominations committed within. God in His mercy has an atoning work to do to cleanse the Holy Place of wickedness.
Ezekiel 11:1 Moreover the spirit lifted me up, and brought me unto the east gate of the LORD's house, which looketh eastward: and behold at the door of the gate five and twenty men; among whom I saw Jaazaniah the son of Azur, and Pelatiah the son of Benaiah, princes of the people. 2 Then said he unto me, Son of man, these are the men that devise mischief, and give wicked counsel in this city: 3 Which say, It is not near; let us build houses: this city is the caldron, and we be the flesh. 4 Therefore prophesy against them, prophesy, O son of man. 5 And the Spirit of the LORD fell upon me, and said unto me, Speak; Thus saith the LORD; Thus have ye said, O house of Israel: for I know the things that come into your mind, every one of them. 6 Ye have multiplied your slain in this city, and ye have filled the streets thereof with the slain. 7 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Your slain whom ye have laid in the midst of it, they are the flesh, and this city is the caldron: but I will bring you forth out of the midst of it. 8 Ye have feared the sword; and I will bring a sword upon you, saith the Lord GOD. 9 And I will bring you out of the midst thereof, and deliver you into the hands of strangers, and will execute judgments among you. 10 Ye shall fall by the sword; I will judge you in the border of Israel; and ye shall know that I am the LORD. 11 This city shall not be your caldron, neither shall ye be the flesh in the midst thereof; but I will judge you in the border of Israel: 12 And ye shall know that I am the LORD: for ye have not walked in my statutes, neither executed my judgments, but have done after the manners of the heathen that are round about you. 13 And it came to pass, when I prophesied, that Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. Then fell I down upon my face, and cried with a loud voice, and said, Ah Lord GOD! wilt thou make a full end of the remnant of Israel? 14 Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 15 Son of man, thy brethren, even thy brethren, the men of thy kindred, and all the house of Israel wholly, are they unto whom the inhabitants of Jerusalem have said, Get you far from the LORD: unto us is this land given in possession. 16 Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Although I have cast them far off among the heathen, and although I have scattered them among the countries, yet will I be to them as a little sanctuary in the countries where they shall come. 17 Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will even gather you from the people, and assemble you out of the countries where ye have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel. 18 And they shall come thither, and they shall take away all the detestable things thereof and all the abominations thereof from thence.19 And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh: 20 That they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God. 21 But as for them whose heart walketh after the heart of their detestable things and their abominations, I will recompense their way upon their own heads, saith the Lord GOD. 22 Then did the cherubims lift up their wings, and the wheels beside them; and the glory of the God of Israel was over them above. 23 And the glory of the LORD went up from the midst of the city, and stood upon the mountain which is on the east side of the city. 24 Afterwards the spirit took me up, and brought me in a vision by the Spirit of God into Chaldea, to them of the captivity. So the vision that I had seen went up from me. 25 Then I spake unto them of the captivity all the things that the LORD had shewed me.
While I could not separate out all the gems and give commentary.. I do believe the Ezekiel is seeing what will soon come to pass when the new temple is built.

The wicked pastors that do not shepherd the Lord’s lambs in the way that they should go, to tell His people that He is not soon returning, or do not teach the ordinances and statutes of God, will be harshly dealt with by the Lord himself. One of the biggest complaint that God has against these wicked religious leaders is that they stop people with their unbelief that they foster on the people who trusted them to lead them to God.
Matthew 23:13 But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.
Judgement begins at the House of God....have you noticed how in these last 20 years there has been a marked increase of ministers, pastors, priests, and any other men of God being exposed for all kinds of sins? Never before in the history of religion have so many leaders been exposed to the world for all to see their sinfulness.

I see your passion, Vis. And I wonder if it is not an emotional response (at least in part) to what I have posted about the Temple.
Isaiah 66:1-4
1 This is what the LORD says: “Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. Where is the house you will build for me? Where will my resting place be?
2 Has not my hand made all these things, and so they came into being?” declares the LORD. “This is the one I esteem: he who is humble and contrite in spirit, and trembles at my word.
3 But whoever sacrifices a bull is like one who kills a man, and whoever offers a lamb, like one who breaks a dog’s neck; whoever makes a grain offering is like one who presents pig’s blood, and whoever burns memorial incense, like one who worships an idol. They have chosen their own ways, and their souls delight in their abominations;
4 so I also will choose harsh treatment for them and will bring upon them what they dread. For when I called, no one answered, when I spoke, no one listened. They did evil in my sight and chose what displeases me.”
This at least puts into perspective the import of the temple in the over all scheme of things. And that at least in times in history the temple and levitical system were defiled. Does it not?
All I am saying is not to put your love in the Temple but in the God who condescended to allow the temple system to exist when David and Solomon acted presumptuously. And yes this allowance of God does mean there will be a tribulation temple built, defiled, and cleansed and will be used in the millennium to honor the Messiah who fulfilled in his own blood the tabernacle / temple system... and in eternity after the millennium there will be no temple.
Revelation 21:22
22 I did not see a temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.
