Wow, religion? It's about RELIGION? As if I ever bashed Christianity or questioned its merit as a religion... I do question its value when it comes right down to the nitty-gritty of it. Which do you worship, God or religion? Christ, or a doctrine created by man after Christ had departed from this earth? You don't own Christianity, nobody does. It owns you. Following Jesus Christ and following a religion are not the same. This is my position, and it stands.

And I'm sorry if I came off the way it appears I did with that fiasco. I'm CERTAINLY paying for it now, aren't I? I was overzealous at the time, and I learn every day that Love isn't about trying to get people to believe the way you want them to. And no, I didn't see it as launching some stupid campaign -- that was not even the point. But I'm not going to argue that further.

Enlightenment? Who knows? God knows, that state is my life's goal. But I never said I had it now. If you want to nail me to a cross for wanting to experience the full power of the Holy Spirit, be my guest. I put my faith in this truth, and thhat faith is irrevocable. The End.

And by the way, Dave... I hope I have no hard feelings against you. I hope that in time we might actually come to respect each other.

You know, I realize everything I've said surely comes off as an attack. For that reason, I'm not upset that you've tried to turn some of this back on me, with the matters of worshipping Christ or religion, or owning Christianity. But if you're going to counterattack, please pick better things to grab for. That's all I ask, man.

I never said you bashed it. Just that you said things that borderlined on the heretical. And I can worship and follow Christ while still having reverence for his teachings, and those of his prophets and followers. I believe the people who preached His word and called thousands to his name in the course of a day. It's far fetched to suggest I think I own Christianity, but the point here is that I believe in the doctrine set forth in the New Testament; for it is in accordance with Christ's teachings. Trying to make me out to be a follower of doctrine and dogma over my God is something I have NOT given you reason to suspect, I like to think.

Nail you to a cross, eh? That what I'm doing? I'm simply going to say that your version of the truth seems to be founded on little more than your own personal experiences. Your attempts at sounding profound or inspired by God sound more like you're paraphrasing the Bhagavad Gita. That is why I don't trust the truth you put your faith in. Because very little of what you said has matched with the truth that has been kept and followed by all Christians since Christ told them, "Go, and make disciples of every nation." Pursue enlightenment if you like. The bulk of my complaint was simply that A. it didn't jive with scripture, and B. it sounded awfully fake, because you made yourself out to be a lot more enlightened or holy than you behaved.

God spoke through his prophets, and their words are recorded in the Bible. I like to think I'm justified in believing them, who are all in accordance, rather than a single man who deviates from it all.

Oh, I respect you in a few areas. Fine writer, usually good natured, but bad at reigning in the sarcasm. That's a small flaw, and I'd like you a lot more if I didn't find myself groaning on a regular basis, ever since you decided to make your change to the enlightened fellow that was supposedly free of negative emotion and high off new divine wisdom. You elevated yourself, good sir, and it bugged me. As for the bit with Star? You came around, I must say. I can't really fault you about that anymore. You have, after all, been forgiven. Any lack of respect on my end is for the hoighty toighty mystical stuff. Little, if anything, more.

Folks, I'm done and I apologize one last time. MD, send any responses via PM. I would've done the same, but I wanted to make sure no one in here thinks me to be a blind follower of doctrine, or unable to see good for someone I find myself in strong disagreement with; or even disliking.
