Haven't made any real life pies this season! My son used to love pumpkin pie. I made quite a few of them in those days.

I'm glad Halloween is over too but Thanksgiving and Christmas are too close together for me. I have usually picked up Christmas gifts by now throughout the year but this year I did not do it. A few stocking stuffers but that's it. That's not good.
that is why I love Canadian thanksgiving. It is in October and is real special cuz it isn't tied to any other holiday. I gather in the US it is kind of tied into the start of Christmas, shopping anyway. I don't have trouble with the Fall Back DLST but hate the Spring forward when we lose an hour. OUCH> Jan

Yes. Our stores have been very successful in making the day after Thanksgiving into the largest shopping day of the year. On a deeper note, the U.S. Thanksgiving is always close to the beginning of Advent. While that connection is accidential as well, I do appreciate it.
I grew up with DLST, and then enjoyed several years without it in Indiana, until Indiana decided to bow to the inevitable a couple years ago. I am not a fan!

It has been a good one for me. Got a new sofa from my MIL for my bedroom. My old one was a love seat that was 19 years old. She just doesn't have room in her new suite in our basement as it was previously in her den in her other place. It is my gain. At first hubby said it wouldn't fit but I always believed it would and it does. Yay. Then my disabled son and mil went to a church bazaar and then shopping at walmart. she got some new things for her suite. i am enjoying her company. Jan
