Are there any rules regarding thread necromancy on this forum? Reason I ask, is a particular member who posts in the Creation&Evolution forum has a habit of resurrecting old threads; sometimes from more than half-a-decade ago (for example, this thread from 2003; see post 82).
Most other forums I post on frown on this sort of thing. In fact, one forum will lock threads more than 3 months old if they are revived.
Other members sometimes do the same thing, but this particular member does this on a semi-regular basis.

As far as I know we don't have a rule against it. Since this is happening in Society area I'll alert the staff in that area to this.

There is no rule about bumping old threads. We do have our share of thread archaeologists.

It's difficult to know sometimes whether to start a new thread or resurrect an old one. Now if it's really old there's not much of a decision, leave it in peace. But where does the border lie? If you start a new thread some will whine that you're going over old ground covered by other threads and provide links to them, whilst if you 'resurrect' a thread others will complain about the resurrection (no pun intended).
As Christians we should never complain about resurrection.

Matthew 7:24 “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: 25 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.
Revelation 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
