The Antichrist: An Alien?

Ok, well, would you like to tell me why the antichrist being an alien is such a terrible interpretation? In the opening paragraph, I pointed out how power, signs, and lying wonders can only mean one thing in our day and age: advanced technology. Jesus Christ and Paul (Mt. 24:24, 2 Th. 2) both point to these great signs and wonders as a characteristic of the antichrist. There is no way possible that these are literally supernatural powers, therefore, the only thing that they could be is advanced technology.

Not to mention that the very word "antichrist" means "instead of Christ" or "against Christ" (possibly a mixture of both). In order for someone to impersonate Christ, there would have to be a false coming, because, as I pointed out, everyone knows that Christ's coming is from the heavens.

As some on this thread have already pointed out (and I did in my OP), Ezekiel chapter 1 can be MISINTERPRETED very easily as Ezekiel seeing God riding around in a UFO (it is not this at all). Other events in the Bible can also very easily be misread into being extraterrestrial (Elijah being caught up in a "chariot of fire", God descending on Mt. Sinai and speaking with Moses face to face, etc.). Were an alien to ever come to earth with advanced technology, he would probably be able to very successfully claim that these events were his doing, and it would all make total and complete sense to the modern scientists and world at large. It is not a conspiracy theory, it is a perfectly reasonable assumption.

Not to mention, I have never said that I BELIEVED that this would happen, only that it is a POSSIBILITY. I think that this is a scenario which all should keep in mind.

I really wouldnt quarrel with any of your points, other than the insistance that a literal alien would be required to fulfill these prophecies. What if heaven had very advanced technology (IE God's Throne)? The Prince of the Power of the Air cast out of heaven would put on quite a show.

Because this is the 21st century we are living in, not the 13th. There are going to be no REAL miraculous signs/wonders. Everything will be simply advanced technology.

There is no such thing as "heavenly technology". Heaven is all about the spirit. Technology is something physical.

God is the most powerful Spirit, far more powerful than any other spirit, and so He rules everything in all realms. When John sees things in heaven in Revelation, he's seeing things in the Spirit, as he himself says:

"1After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter. 2And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne." Rev. 4:1-2


"23But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. 24God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth." Jn. 4:23-24

Heaven possesses no technology, it is all spiritual, because God is a Spirit.

You have a spirit inside your belly (your own), as does every other member of the human race. An alien coming to earth would possess advanced technology, which is what I am saying the power/signs/lying wonders are. An alien, not an angel.
