I'm in Newcastle and it was almost as bad here! It has been crazy all morning. I had to go out to uni early this morning and you could hardly see at all - the roads are a nightmare.
It is starting to clear a little now but the winds are still extremely strong. I think I might be staying inside for the rest of today! I will catch up on notes from my classes later.
It's a dust storm that's resulted from a very low pressure system sweeping across Australia. The dust has been picked up and carried from both NT and SA and has headed north along the eastern coast. It's now stretched up to Brisbane and may yet hit NZ before it settles.
