When I was in England in the city of Bournemouth I remember a nice old lady came to a group of us (Saudis and few Arabs) in the street and she invited us to some sort of a tea and cake party in the Church, we told her that we will think about it.
and one time in the park 2 nice couples came to me and started discussing religion with me and invited me to some sort of BBQ party in the beach now I didn't go to neither of these 2 for few reasons but I want to know what do they do? Do they also ask me to confess to Jesus or ask him for mercy? |

Only very occasionally(around like major holidays: Easter, Christmas, and Thanksgiving) do they have any type of like bible verse like reading and we always pray before we eat. But it is more so just a gathering, like a social event.
I am not sure how those type of things you mentioned are exactly because every church gathering is unique to what that church is used too.
But I am sure they wont be like "preach, preach, preach!" so maybe next time you should just go? And if your not comfortable there then you dont have to go, you know?

the other reason because I was afraid that they would ask me to thank Jesus for the food and if I didn't do it that will make me very rude and if I did it, it considered blasphemy in my beliefs so I didn't go.
my best friend there was Italian catholic though, named David he was my roommate and he couldn't understand English too so we had big problems understanding each other and the biggest surprise I ever seen was that most of the Europeans are Atheists, I couldn't understand it because I never new that something called Atheism exist, I thought all the Europeans are Christians. |

As far as your questions go...nobody would have hurt you. These people were just trying to be hospitable and share the love of Jesus with you. They also would have respected your beliefs.
I think though you should really do some searching as to whether being a Muslim is really following the truth. Read about Jesus in the Bible. Find out all you can about this man that is called the Son of God. You might be surprised to find that the truth isn't always what we think it is. I hope you do this. Take care and God Bless! |
