Question

How does the Lord view mental illness that is permanent?

This is a deep question. There are several times in scripture where Jesus casts our demons and these have caused some in the Christian community to believe that mental illness is related to demons or even sin. But that's not the case as I understand scripture. I don't find that our Lord views mental illness any differently than any illness. We were born into a broken world, but God loved us before the foundation of this world was ever laid down. No matter what's wrong with us today in this broken world, His Children will be without spot or blemish one day...

Receiving the spirit of God is a miracle, it's a gift given to those that have been allowed to see their lost condition and they cry out to the Lord: Romans 10:9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
