You seem to be confused. It was a federal tax court, and a jury in a United States District Court, that concluded that Hovind was guilty of "some kind of dishonesty". Several kinds, in fact.

Was keeping cash transactions less than the reportable $10,000 limit a mistake? Was hiding assets from the IRS a mistake. Was threatening agents and hampering an investigation a mistake? Was not cooporating with federal agents (and thereby most likely avoiding jail time) a mistake?
No wonder creationists are so gullible.
BTW, do most christians have such a martyr complex as to believe that the feds were really interested in shutting down Dinosaur Adventure Land, that they actually trumped up charges to falsely accuse and then incarcerate Hovind? Really?
I swear I learn more and more about religious psyche every time I visit CF.
