Just my family situation has turned to the worst which is why I can't seek help yet if you only understood the situation.Thank you Madison for your concern! You are a start! I understand that there are obstacles that can get in one's way when we need help from professionals. I am currently unable to see a dentist, though I am in horrific pain on a good day.
I can tell you that depression is only worsened by alcohol. Alcohol is a drug that is in the class of depressants. It exacerbates depression, making it worse.
You could get help at a rehab, or AA. Some rehabs offer outpatient treatment, like the one I went to for almost a year. It would be a challenge to juggle school with treatment meetings, but it might be worth looking into. I have no idea what is available in your area.
At least, try to get to some AA meetings. Also, try praying and meditatiing on scripture. One that really helps me is "Be still and know that I am God." I will sometimes just turn down the lights and close my eyes, and repeat that in a song form.
Hang in there.
Hugs,
Trish
