No peace among the nations without peace among the religions.
No peace among the religions without dialogue among the religions.
No dialogue among the religions without investigation of the foundation of the religions. ~Hans Küng
It's not something I'm used to be Christians, in Real Life and on CF. (Especially on CF).
I know a lot of people that hav eopen minds, are interested in Christ... but are shunned by Christians.
I am looking forward to visiting one of these Liberal Catholic Churches.
We are progressive Catholics and those that would deem so. We welcome everyone as Christ would. We are embracing of other religions and other cultures. That is how I wanted this forum to be.

Would you welcome someone who say, says they are Buddhist and Christian?
Or say Wiccan and Christian?
or would they be shunned?
When we say "everyone is welcome" we sincerely mean exactly that.
The commute for you would be bit long, but please drop in if you are in the neighborhood.
The different branches of the LCC seem to have been formed less out of doctrinal differences than governance issues; however, currently there are some branches where women can be ordained and some where they cannot. So, some branches wind up being more "liberal" than others.
Regardless, we strive to welcome everybody.
And I forgot to mention that we practice open communion. Unlike some churches, anyone who reverently and sincerely approaches the altar is welcome to communion.

Reason: forgot to mention open communion.

This something I really appreciate.
Is now the time to confess that I pretended to be catholic once in school so I could participate in the Eucharest?
You won't find that a problem in an LCC denomination.

You know, I never did that. I figured they had their rules for a reason, silly me. I became Catholic in order to partake. Obviously that has changed now, but hey. I was one of those Catholics who didn't agree with everything, so this forum strikes a chord, but ultimately it wasn't the way for me to reconcile the differences.
