When I was a child my parents took me to just about every Christian denomination with the exception of Catholic. I later married a Catholic and tried that for a while. There are parts I like about almost every denomination. The only advice I have in addition to attending a church that makes you feel comfortable is written in Proverbs 3:5...

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding".

If you're not sure which church to attend, pray about it daily and ask God to lead you.

I was looking at my church's list of online sermons, and thought "Where are they all? Why are there so few?" It was then it hit me, that church only runs fifty-two times per year. (doh)

Fifty hours of Sunday church, twenty-five hours of sermons. I can listen to that many radio sermons in a week or two.

Wherever you end up is only going to impact you the number of hours you involve yourself. If you participate in ministries or groups there, these become part of your life. You create part of your future by what you put in front of you.

Invest the time to find what you want for your life. You might even want to organize a home Bible study yourself.

I do believe in God and Jesus. My mom is Catholic but I'm not sure it's for me. I feel I'm just too "liberal" for Catholicism. I want a place/religion/church that I can feel comfortable with.
I don't really understand the differences between the church of christ, non denomenational, baptist, etc.
I just don't know where to go
Please help.
"Liberal for a Catcholic" is usually birth control. Yes, Lutherans are liberal enough to use birth control. What else makes you liberal? Don't want to go to confession? Lutherans find forgiveness of sins, which we have plenty of, by stating a public confession.

You don't want legalism. Lot of churches use legalism to control members, especially young people so they don't get pregnant. But legalism is a poor substitute for real love.

You want a loving, relational church where you will be accepted for who you are. That will require some effort on your part but is possible...even at a Lutheran church.

What's local to you? choices? What's on your menu?

Peace,

Cos
