| Belief In Ones Circumstances. I know that telling people not to believe in there circumstances but trust God is very controversial on this forum but I just wanted to share with you something that God showed me.
The Sunday school (if I’m allowed to use that old fuddy duddy term now.) had been looking at Gideon defeating the Midianites.
So our house group that week studied this further.
During the opening explanation it was pointed out that the torch bearer/ trumpet blower would have been accompanied by several hundred or even thousands of men each.
So when God command Gideon to take just 100 men to surround the Midianite camp and blow trumpets and light torches, the Midianites naturally assumed they had been surround by thousands of men and there impending doom was imminent, and in the panic killed each other.
What God showed me was that in hindsight we know only hundred people had surrounded that camp but the Midianites believed what they perceived there circumstances to be that they had been surround by thousands and in the end this belief led to their demises.
So really the question God was asking me is this.
Is that really what your circumstances are or only what you perceive them to be, Trust in me as Gideon trusted in me and although his circumstances seemed doomed because it was trust in God he won through.

"Walk without blemish". You will, of course, fail to live without blemish;
but failing is quite different from not even trying. For those who believe in God, no explanation is necessary.
For those who do not believe in God, no explanation is possible. |
