And even if they do open, the withdrawal limits may be reduced to a coupld of hundred dollars a day or less to prevent the capital base of the banks from disappearing totally. As for credit cards, we may see thousands of cards shut down over night very soon. After that who knows? At some point cash may fail totally, but at least by then you may have something put away to eat.
This is not a joke! This is likely to be a life-or-death situation for some people. Remember, this actually happened in the Great Depression, and even people who had good savings were forced into the streets or onto soup lines for periods when their cash was unavailable. Today things are much worse because so many people have NO savings at all.
For those without any available cash, and you are living on credit cards - I truly feel sorry for you. You need a very good social network if you are going to survive.

You will have food, and the rest of your cash 'under your mattress', so you can always deposit it back into your bank again when things improve. But if you haven't got it when the **** hits the fan you are in real trouble.

My advice to millionaires and other wealthy people is to borrow loans from banks to relieve pressure on banks increasing mortgage rates for homeowners. Using loans to help start small business and large businesses on green projects such as solar energy panel manufacturing suppliers for homes so that consumers can benefit from free electricity. Free electricity also means appliances always left on such as the fridge, freezer and hotwater. Water-from-air machines are yet to be seen in homes to supply pure drinking and shower water for better health and to avoid chlorine-sensitive skin disorders. Yes, just like he provided for the hundreds of millions who died of wars, disease and starvation in the 20th century, and the multiplied many more who will suffer a similar fate in this one.
This isn't just about Christians, it's about the world.
Don't get me wrong. I am a Christian, and we know that God's provision is a promise, as you have correctly pointed out in the scriptures. But there are other scriptures which clearly prophecy a massive famine worldwide in the last days. It might be all fine to sit back and smugly say 'I'll be ok, my daddy God will pay the bills'. But history will dare to disagree. God is not in the business of footing the bill for a self-centred and 'couldn't care less' people - whether they call themselves Christians or not.
As a Christian it is my responsibility to THINK and PREPARE as much as it is to PRAY. In fact, as I have been praying, I have sensed God has been saying things like this:
"This world's sin is now in these last days like an over-ripe fig on the tree. All full of juice, but ready to fall. When it does, the wild animals will devour it. However, even the juice of this fruit is poison. Just as Adam and Eve thought that they were secure and safe, they were caught by surprise, and the poison - sweet as it was - began it's work. Even so today, this fruit is attractive on the outside, but full of poison. So, both the fruit and the devourer will be destroyed together.
PREPARE for the coming destruction. Look not only to your own needs as the day approaches, but also to those who are totally unaware of what is coming. If my people will prepare and be willing to sacrifice in this day, a great harvest will be brought in before the end. Do not look for an escape, there is none. Do not try to hide, there is no hiding place. Do not ignore, for the truth will seek you out.
Unfortunately many who call themselves by my name are wedded to the world. They have neither eyes nor ears. They rest on a false security. You be the judge as to whether you believe that this is God's word or not. I believe that it is. And all my study of what is going on in the world right now indicates that it is. I have been a Christian for 35 years, and have lived through wave after wave of false prophets predicting the second coming and various dates. But I have a deep sense that this is the time. It may be a few years off yet still, but the final phase has already begun.
The collapse of the world financial system is in progress as according to Revelation 18. The final phase began on 9/11, (in ONE HOUR....v10) and has continued unabated, but largely unnoticed, since then. What we are seeing now is simply the external evidence, just like someone who sees some flaking paint on their doorframe, only to discover that underneath the termites have totally devoured the whole building frame. The termites have been consuming the world's economic structure for the last 40 years, although it has gone almost unnoticed. Now, the more we investigate, the more destruction we are finding. And despite the best efforts of the thieves and criminals who run our 'media', the truth is getting out.
The next thing will be an attempt to shut down the free circulation of the truth. The internet will soon be severely restricted, and only 'approved' sites will be allowed to remain. This will be the close of the window for the truth to get out. After that, it's anyone's guess as to what will happen. Probably a massive war to provide an excuse to place the US and many other countries under martial law.
These are my sincerely held views. I may be wrong. I actually hope I am. I am not claiming to be anyone special. I hate the idea that my world is in self-destruct mode. But I have eyes and ears and (hopefully) a brain. Woe to anyone who forgoes the use of them in favor of a shallow 'faith'.
I'm sorry but a simple 'God will provide' doesn't cut it for me (read Rev 18:24).

Spend some time reading Isaiah and you will see in the midst of the judgment God provided for those who were faithful. So the question is, Do you know the Word and are you living a life of obedience?

Spend some time reading Isaiah and you will see in the midst of the judgment God provided for those who were faithful. So the question is, Do you know the Word and are you living a life of obedience?
I don't dispute that, but with a big 'HOWEVER'. Remember Isaiah was sawn in two. Christians (even Paul) experience extreme hardship and even starvation.
God doesn't promise that the faithful wil NEVER experience hardship. If he did then he is guilty of unfaithfulness. In general we can and must place our trust fully in God, and remain faithful. In general we can be confident of God's provision. But faithfulness is no absolute guarantee against suffering.
Jesus explicitly promised believers suffering for his sake! Yes, we experience great mercy and provision in general. But even the 'best' christian can experience hardship and suffering. Only TV evangelists promise Christians wealth and prosperity as a guaranteed birthright. (Of course, especially if you give to their ministries.)

Who do we fear more, God or man? This is the key question we need to ask ourselves.
We need to be able to stand in the center of the storm with peace and joy knowing we are still in God's hand.

My observation though is that many Christians today THINK that they are full of faith, THINK that they are obedient, but the level of their TRUE faith has never been tested. Obviously this is a generalization. There are many Christians who have had their faith tested, and have proven God's promises in the fire of affliction. And there are many more who have yet to go through the storm, but will be found secure in Christ regardless of what the world throws at them.
What I get very concerned about is 'one liner' Christians. The Christian who CLAIMS to know the word, but who only knows their favourite versions of selected scriptures that support their particular preferences concerning the nature, character and purposes of God.
I have seen these kinds of Christians fall away when their true level of faith is tested. Anyone who systematically studies the scriptures gets a different view of the real nature of God's promises. God is not a simpleton! He is much bigger and wiser than what we give him credit for. He is essentially our FATHER. He is primarily interested in bringing his children to maturity and training us in the ways of RULERSHIP. And his perfect model for this is Jesus.
Jesus experienced in his lifetime on Earth the full spectrum of the sufferings of humanity. He was not wealthy in material terms, although he was the very owner of the universe. He entered into sufferings in order to ATTAIN to MATURITY through obedience! So, if it was suffering that was God's way of bringing Christ to perfection, then so much more us who are in far greater need of perfecting!
This is why we must look to a higher way than just a shallow 'God will look after me' level of faith. That is for baby Christians.
So, to just sit back and wait for whatever is going to be isn't Christian, it's fatalism. And God will not be mocked by this attitude.
If God specifically tells me "don't worry about preparing for the economic collapse that is coming, just do such and such, and leave the rest to me" then I will take him at his word and act in obedience. But I am perfectly justified in asking God to make that very clear! Otherwise I will follow his general principle of being wise and dilligent according to the Proverbs. I will prepare. Not just so that I and mine will be ok, but, like Joseph, to be able to have something to share and help others with when the time comes.
