Blown out of proportion. Everything comes around.Calm down.
Such glib throw-away lines are irresponsible in the face of genuine danger!
Would you have said that to the people on the beach in Samoa as the tsunami warning siren sounded? Would you have said that to the people of New Orleans as Katrina was building up force? Would you have said that to the people working in the Twin Towers on 9/11 had you forewarning of the attacks?
Some people bring about their own destruction through their own stupidity. History, and the Bible is full of examples of this. Look up a bible concordance for the number of times God warns of destruction of this or that people, and then look at the number of times these warnings go unheeded and all but a few are destroyed.
Despite the stupidity of the 'never talk negative' crowd, sometimes there are real and tragic events in life that could be minimised or avoided it people HEEDED WARNINGS that God gives to people.
Yes, tsunamis eventually subside, wars cease, earthquakes stop, famines come to an end, and depressions eventually ease, but the damage they cause in the mean time can be devastatingly real and often avoidable.
Ok, you may believe that warnings of impending economic and social collapse are exaggerated. Well, let's have a genuine discussion here about that. I would love to be shown that there is nothing to worry about. But at this time, on the basis of hundreds of hours of my own investigations into the background causes, history and current developments regarding the economy, I am firmly convinced that we have A LOT to be alarmed about!

A collapse is a certainty. You simply cannot print money like this, spend money like this, and just shuffle the numbers around for any real length of time.

If guns cause violence keyboards cause typos. Only the naive believe objects are capable of conscious acts.
All sorts of surprises can occur when the preacher takes the Bible seriously. Leander keck in The Bible in the Pulpit
" Whenever any form of government is destructive of these ends [life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness] it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it, and to institute new government in such form as to them shall seem most likely to affect their safety and happiness.” Declaration of Independence, 1776

My observation though is that many Christians today THINK that they are full of faith, THINK that they are obedient, but the level of their TRUE faith has never been tested. Obviously this is a generalization. There are many Christians who have had their faith tested, and have proven God's promises in the fire of affliction. And there are many more who have yet to go through the storm, but will be found secure in Christ regardless of what the world throws at them.
What I get very concerned about is 'one liner' Christians. The Christian who CLAIMS to know the word, but who only knows their favourite versions of selected scriptures that support their particular preferences concerning the nature, character and purposes of God.
