Not really mad about. I am actually fairly convinced that it will be a long term benefit to the province. Not exactly happy with how they sort of sprung it.

And redeveloping the Conservative party could only split the right vote and get the NDP in. No thanks.

I'm opposed to it but for different reasons I think. I don't know why you would want to redevelop the Conservative party as you have the Liberals... but feel free.

It's not brought in by the Conservatives. It's from Gordon Campbell and the BC Liberals.

Well, not entirely. The federal government is going to kick in something like $1.6 billion (IIRC) for the transition. It is definitely a joint venture between the federal and provincial levels.

I believe the BC government was pretty much compelled to go with the HST model once Ontario decided to go down the same route as well. I do also believe they probably suppressed this before the election to avoid the controversy.
