By marriage I mean biblical life commitment (till death do us part rather till something else comes along). |

Where's the hostility?

Christianity has always insisted that the cross we bear precedes the crown we wear.
God has two outstretched arms. One is strong enough to surround us with justice, and one is gentle enough to embrace us with grace.
How often are our lives characterized by a high blood pressure of creeds and an anemia of deeds! |

I voted hostile, because if you take society as an organism, like bacteria, then it really does nothing to foster "til death", but instead contributes filth and depravation to the mind, like an onslaught of debauchery nearly everywhere you turn. It's not enough that we must fight against our instincts to be bad(selfish), but society pretty much says it's all okay. |

Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there. If i take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there Your hand shall lead me, And Your right hand shall hold me. Shall we look at the statistics?
Does anybody have the updated divorce rates? The last time I looked (ten years ago) it was 51% unchurched, 52 % churched.
Going just by those out dated stats... what do YOU interpret from that?
Are people just selfish or their lust out of control?
Or is it increasingly difficult to stay in the "much admired" long term marriages because the environment is is hostile or pro-singles... ?
